It only took me a couple of good sessions to play through everything Katamari Damacy Reroll had to offer, but the vast majority of those six or seven hours was spent with an enormous grin on my face, my head nodding along to the incredibly catchy, eclectic score. Katamari Damacy was a breath of fresh air on first release and it still is today, almost 15 years later.

Wonderfully weird and inventive. Katamari Damacy isn’t perfect, but it holds its own impressively well 14 years on.

It’s been 15 years since one of the most intriguing games of the sixth generation of consoles rolled in, and this remaster proves that the concept behind Katamari hasn’t aged a bit, same as the soundtrack and art direction. [02/2019, p.63]

It’s a delightfully bizarre adventure that everyone really needs to go on at least once. And even if you’re well-versed in Katamari Damacy, there’s no reason to not jump back in.

Katamari Damacy Reroll is short, simple, but so very sweet. And at a price point as low as this, it's honestly hard not to recommend, even with all the great games that came out this Fall.

Katamari Damacy REROLL is a fantastic experience for people who have never experienced the game before but it is a pretty barebones port on PC.

As a port of the original, Katamari Damacy REROLL is definitely a great way for people to try this bundle of rolling wackiness for the first time. Just note that it can get very repetitive very soon, and that it clearly comes from that awkward phase where 3D games weren't that refined.

Great game and probably one of the most different ones. The only that you can pick a cat with a ball.

Having played and finished the original several years ago on the original system, this port feels very good but I can't help but feel the experience is a little bit different. For me this game was a solid 9 on the original system, but this port comes up like a wasted opportunity to get it perfect and just as a "good enough" attempt at a port. It feels emulated at times, not really ported, also they didn't go any extra mile to make it at least a little bit more compelling.
Great music, quirky, very original concept still to this day, relaxing, unique, but feels like they just wanted to sell an emulated 'port' instead of really doing an effort to revive the Katamari experience.
I still give it a very high score becasue I hope this sells well enough, so Bandai Namco wants to make a new sequel (and soundtrack!) for this great IP.

Now Katamari Damacy is a weird game.
I like the concept, music and art in the game, however, the gameplay is a bit of a different story.

I know that Keita Takahashi (the creator of the series) did not have any prior experience in making games. This is just my oppinion but I find the gameplay frustrating and not very fun. Intretersting gaming history. FWI I am on the last level but I am not currently planning on finishing the game.

A game from my childhood, nostalgic and fun, looks very good with the upgrade.

The game launches in windowed 1280x720 display settings, with no way to change it until you get past the 10-minute-long tutorial first which is super annoying. Language cannot be changed in game - I have to search online for a solution and found out that it only be changed in Steam settings or by editing the setting .ini file. In 2019. Seriously. I love the game, but these issues left a bad taste in my mouth. Expand

It is short and sweet, never becoming boring. The music is a highlight for me, being just as wacky as the game itself. The biggest problem I have with the game is how it is very easy to get stuck, and there is no way to re-spawn if you do. Had to restart a couple levels because of this, which was a bit annoying.
