Knights and Bikes excels in its uniqueness. The hand-drawn characters are adorable and detailed. Demelza and Nessa’s dialogue is sweet and funny. The world and story that the folks over at Foam Swords have created is equal parts exciting and inherently sad. The narrative covers difficult topics in a whimsical way that will have players at times on the verge of tears and laughing out loud only moments later. Whether you play alone or with a friend, Knights and Bikes is a sensational adventure game. Everything from its characters and its narrative to its art style and sound design is an absolute delight. It was a pleasure to play, and an experience I won’t soon forget.

Knights and Bikes tells the tale of Demelza and Nessa as they uncover a story, battle a curse, and deal with the almost inevitable closure of Demelza's fathers business. Luckily for adventure game fans, there is a lot to love in this charming game that pays a substantial homage to some of the best coming of age adventure films of the 80s. Knights and Bikes delivers on an extraordinary experience that is hard to find these days.

Knights and Bikes captures the nostalgia of British childhood holidays in worn-down caravan parks and small-scale adventures in seaside towns. Designed to be played with a friend, with both of you tapping a button to careen around on extremely 80s bikes, it is energetic and charming enough to make you laugh all the way through.

Knights and Bikes is a half a game and half an '80 teen movie, a beautiful story of friendship.

Knights and Bikes is a co-op-focused action adventure with the core of a classic. The level design is smart and accessible to everyone, and the overall execution is just wonderful. Apart from its childish premises and some pacing issues, this game manages to tell a good, genuine story, like an old ‘80s movie.

Knights & Bikes was created by a small team featuring several people who worked on LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway, and you can feel that all these games share a similar creative vision. There's a kind of wide-eyed, rough and tumble spirit of adventure running through all three games that is hard to resist. Knights & Bikes is a wonderfully warm, effortlessly inviting experience that'll make you feel young again.

Foam Sword knew exactly what they wanted to do with Knights and Bikes and they did it well. This game is a tiny colorful paean to your 80s childhood with a splash of girl power.

Knights and Bikes tells a touching, albeit overlong, coming of age story about friendship and grief.

It's strangely fitting that there should be moments of boredom: if the world occasionally seems too big and your destination too distant, well, isn't that what being a kid's all about? [Issue#337, p.112]

Knights and Bikes tries its best to make even us boring adults remember what it was like to be a child with an endless imagination and does that rather well.

I played my copy with a friend, and I am quite positive that this game is at its best when played with someone. However, we encountered several glitches that varied in severity; player 2 sometimes could not see some harmless visual effects (e.g. a rock lighting up), but they also could not complete some puzzles without player 1's help because the essential puzzle elements did not move on their screen. This is a huge letdown and should be considered by the developers.

Otherwise Knights and Bikes is an absolute delight and definitely worth it to pick up if you've ever wanted to go on a jolly cycling trip with your friends!

There are many games trying to capture the charm of childhood but perhaps none of them does it so well as Knights and Bikes, with it's cuteThere are many games trying to capture the charm of childhood but perhaps none of them does it so well as Knights and Bikes, with it's cute art style, clever story, adorable characters and witty dialogues. And it has co-op mode, that's always an advantage.

Let Demelza and Nessa take you on their great adventure, you won't be disappointed... Just don't play for too long at once, the game can become a bit boring due to repetitive, chaotic fights and unrewarding exploration (unless you enjoy buying dozens of customization parts for your bike).

Anyway, it's something unique and deserves your attention... Money too ;-)
