I have fond memories of the latest rendez-vous with Miss Croft in the Temple of Osiris and I wish you the same. [02/2015, p.50]

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a fun experience that shines when played alone but also with a few friends. Bear in mind that cooperation is key and you might need some time before you get accustomed to the problematic controls.

Last year’s Guardian of Light was quite the surprise hit for me: the mixture of arcade-shooting and interesting puzzle-segments was a lot of fun – especially in coop. With Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Crystal Dynamics didn’t focus on anything innovative but rather on delivering good gameplay, beautifully designed levels and cool coop-puzzles (this time you can even play in a team of four). So if you don’t expect Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris to add mind blowing new elements and are satisfied with “only” a solid sequel, I can only recommend it.

The reality is if you’re looking for this kind of puzzle-action isometric fix, there’s not a shortage of games out there which can offer it. So presumably Lara herself is the lure, however, like I said before the story and characters were, for me, anything but a strong point. That said, this is a decent game with enjoyable puzzle mechanics, a slick combat system and smooth luminous graphics. Just don’t expect any surprises, you’re getting exactly what you see.

A nice Christmas gift for the fans of ‘classic’ Lara Croft.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a co-op game. It is easy but nice to play, and the trivial story makes it a great game for anyone. The difficulty in this game is not challenging, which means that getting better armor does not really change a lot. Easy is easy.

In the end, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was almost an enjoyable sequel to Guardian of Light. However, it’s impossible to look past its glaring problems with performance, which sully what could have been an otherwise enjoyable sequel.

It had some issues with the performance (it really needs a lot) and the controls but once I got used to it everything was fine. Of course it has to have some degree of error since it's a challenging game and some things must be done after a few tries. It was rather easy, I managed to find all the Red Skulls and an overall great experience, especially with friends. Expand

Game has a nice art style and its cool to see Lara Croft in an egyptian setting again. Graphics are pretty alright. As 2013 Tomb Raider rebbot trilogy sadly distanced itself way too much from the classic Tomb Raider, it was refreshing to see that Crystal Dynamics hasnt forgotten about it completely and still somewhat care about the legacy, with classic looking Lara in shorts and a tank top to boot, with few other cool outfits to choose from. I was also very pleasantly suprised seeing Keeley Hawes returning once again to voice gaming's best heroine.

The puzzles like i tried to signal before are somewhat simpler than those that can be found in Guardian of Light, yet they still offer a reasonable challenge, also theyre still ways ahead of the puzzles that can be found in survivor era Tomb Raider games, which is as weird as it sounds considering Temple of Osiris small arcade scale, but its true. Combat somehow also doesnt feel as refined as in GoL, but again it works well enough in order to deliver you fun shootouts. Luckily they have included quite a decent arsenal of guns to play with just like in GoL. One gripe i have though is how rather underwhelming the pistols sound, they have the same sound effects that of 2013 reboot pistols sounds, and if you've played that game, you'd know they just sound off and inferior to pistols of odler Tomb Raider games. CD also sadly have stripped the options to walk and drawing the guns out that were in Guardian of Light, small for most, but for me important layers of gameplay as i like every detail i can get.

Performance is where the game struggles, generally it runs well enough, but plenty of times the game stutters quite noticeably, in specific areas in the game world and levels even more so, it can be quite jarring. I tried playing around with screen modes and V Sync, didnt help. The game's camera angles also can be quite a pain in the arse, at times they zoom out way too far. Final boss camera especially can get annoying in this regard.

In the end i can still reccomend The Temple of Osiris to any Tomb Raider fan as it is a decent experience, there's something for both fans of the more classic games and its easy enough to get into for modern fans, just expect a game bit rough around the edges.

The story is too short, Lara's gears are too many but almost useless. No replay option as LC & Guardians of Light.
The same as Hitman, SquareEnix would've not made a good LC series since Eidos has no longer developed it.

However, this game is barely playable on the game hardware. Even in single-player mode, it lags. Still I tried to do it and suffer through terrible frame rate, but the game is full of bugs and I just could not play it properly. I really don't understand how developers could've done this, when they have the engine that works well. Obviously, it was a rushed release looking to capitalize on popularity of Guardian of Light.

If you haven't played Guardian of Light, get that one instead.
