With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the Original Trilogy, LEGO Star Wars II lets you build and battle your way through your favorite film moments. From Darth Vader's pursuit of Princess Leia aboard her Blockade Runner to Luke's final confrontation with Emperor Palpatine. For the first time ever, characters can get in and out of vehicles, as well as ride creatures. Because it's LEGO style, you can also mix and match the body parts of more than 50 playable characters to create one of millions of possible LEGO Star Wars heroes. And on PS2, Xbox and Windows platforms, a game save from the first LEGO Star Wars can unlock another 50-plus additional characters for Free Play mode -- that's more than 100 total characters. Other exciting additions include free-roaming vehicle levels, the ability to switch ships at will in Free Play mode, cool new character-specific attacks and maneuvers, playable mini-kit vehicles, an adaptive difficulty option and more. 1. A wonderful game that rewards experimentation and co-operation.
  2. The Co-Op mode alone makes this an essential purchase and now with the ability to take vehicles out for a spin and create new characters, Lego Star Wars II is every bit as great as we would have hoped.
  3. It certainly isn't gaming's greatest challenge, but it's absolutely fun. If you've seen the original trilogy, don't resist! Join the LEGOside.

There's some superb gaming here, no sci-fi indulgence, no grim Star Wars fanboyism, no recourse to statistics or tedious switch. This is an action-puzzle game for all brains great and small. [Oct 2006, p.94]

And, were it not said, someone would be drummed out of the union: The Force is strong with this one. [Oct. 2006, p.52]
  6. It’s a sequel to one of the most entertaining Star Wars games ever made, and it honors one of the best sci-fi trilogies of all time. Unfortunately, some of the design limitations might keep you from playing each level multiple times to find all the goodies and online achievements.
  7. The gameplay hasn't changed dramatically, but better source material makes Lego Star Wars II a better game than its predecessor.

It's a lot of fun, lots to do, it's very funny and you know the storyline already, so your favorite Star Wars scenes in Lego are a blast to see! It's also a lot longer than the first game, and the extras are much harder to get, increasing the replay value of the game. We've been playing every night for 3 nights now and we're only on level 5 on Episode 4, not to mention all the free mode extras we have to get. Excellent game and highly worth the money you'll spend on it. Expand
