Madden NFL 19 is a fantastic entry into the long-running series. The new Player Movement System and air collision system lead to far more fluent gameplay and animation while MUT comes in better than ever. The MUT challenges are enjoyable and offer a great way to start building your team and a new emphasis on training and chemistry allows for more strategy. New or returning, Madden NFL 19 is a must buy for football fans.

Madden 19 offers a fascinating single-player story, but the rest of the game largely falls into the same tropes you experienced a decade ago.

For those who enjoy Madden, I think it's definitely worth a buy over the console versions, particularly if EA Sports can fix the jittery over-60fps gameplay. Most of us like the flexibility that PC gaming offers just in the options alone. Once the few bugs are ironed out (including Madden having issues connecting to EA servers, repeatedly), I think the game will be absolutely brilliant. They have made a great attempt at a comeback on PC, it just ends up being marred by some minor glitches which can prove immensely frustrating.

Madden 19 looks fantastic on PC. The bump in resolution, frame rate and post-processing effects makes for a smoother and more visually striking experience. More than ever, Madden 19 on PC looks at first blush like live television footage.

Madden 19 on PC is leaps and bounds better than Madden 08 PC in every way I can think of. 19 on PC is the same version of the game as Xbox and PS4, but with faster loading times and moderately better graphics than the "next-gen consoles." It plays smoothly at 4K60 maxed out and even on my old rig with a 5 year old mid-tier GTX 660Ti 3GB, it plays very well with everything maxed at 1080p. There are even mods already being worked on in the first week of official release. In regards to gameplay, this is easily the best it's been since Madden 2004. If you want to nitpick minor clipping in super-slow-mo instant replay, and build a YouTube channel off that, then go for it. But at speed, live, this game excites far, far more than it disappoints.

If you have stutter, update your driver and make sure to switch it to DX11 in the settings menu.

I like it, it looks awesome in my monitor, animations are beautiful but some glitches are funny. Gameplay is harder than I think but I hope it's about habit. Look forward to another patch, some things need to fix it. But I still like it. Expand

I really wanted to like Madden 19. When EA finally released a new NFL game for the PC, I had to have it. I loaded it up on my computer and sat down to relive some old memories. But the more I played, the more the nagging doubts kept cropping up, the more the key features I'd enjoyed from previous titles became conspicuous in their absence.
In fairness, it's a pretty game. The animations are nice and the presentation looks very modern. I'm a guy who wasted his youth playing the games from the XBOX era and graphics don't mean a whole lot to me, but they do look good. But this game is an example of how polished graphics don't translate into a good user experience without a good game underneath them.

Everything else is a broken mess of missing features and linear game design-

*The stuttering audio and wonky frame rate I got when I installed it made it almost impossible to play- I spent twenty minutes on forums before I found the answer (you have to unlock the frame rate and turn off V-Sync, simple enough), but why did the game release like that? Didn't anyone test it?

*You can't change the music. I guess if I were a huge fan of hip hop, that wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not. There's no option to skip tracks or import music from my computer, which you could do on Madden 08, ten years ago. After an hour, I ended up turning the music off altogether and just scrolled along in silence.

*You can't create your own team. I was excited to see the Outlaws (my custom team for years now) on next-gen hardware, but no dice. You can still create your own characters, but you're limited to about ten faces and none of them look like me or my friends, which is half the reason I do the franchise mode.

*The fantasy draft holds your hand through drafting players and assigns each choice you make a grade. "Oh, no! You reached for that player! He's ranked 112 and you took him at 98!" the system will say disapprovingly. So regardless of my personal feelings about a guy, I have to watch an error message every time I don't make what the game considers an 'optimal' choice.

*The tile-based menus aren't terrible, but they do feel a bit dumbed-down. And the voice that tells me, every single time, that I should choose the options menu to change the options is grating, to say the least. It would also be nice to get the constant ads for EA products off the screen somehow.

I realize that every one of my issues relates to some feature I expected the game to have that it doesn't. And maybe console gamers have been dealing with this for years. But Madden 19 is a wonderful example of what's wrong with the game industry right now. If you're the kind of person who invites friends over to play each other at Madden, it probably works fine for you. And it's not a terrible game. I'm just sad to have waited 10 years for THIS.

Now I play only PC games so I was really looking forward to new PC version of Madden after many years.

I used to be pretty good and played on the highest difficulty.

This year I am really disappointed. This game lost many improvements they made in previous versions, physics seems very weird. I am not able to win any game due to tragicly made offensive mechanisms. Players cant catch the ball. Linebackers are standing on the ground doing nothing so I get sacked almost every play. When I throw long balls they almost always end with interception but short ones too. These mechanism are very unreal. If anyone played real life football or any other ball game he/she knows how hard is to steal or intercept the ball.
Defensive players run faster than offensive players, etc..

This has been the worst Madden experience I ever had and Im really sorry for the game which I loved once.

That isn't to say you cant find things to do but what you are provided is just the bare minimum of an experience.

The franchise mode is exactly what it has been for years. I haven't played a madden since 16 and i can honestly say i wouldn't notice any differences between the games. MUT is pretty much a money grab. A "my player" experience is non existent. I was searching for an online match for 20 minutes and still could not find one and was never able too. Whilst the graphics are good and the physics and mechanics have improved over previous iterations of the game, it is in my opinion that not enough substance has been provided.

I wanted to like this game, i truly did. But i could not find myself having fun while playing. There was no immersion while playing a single player franchise mode, the inability to have the computer call the plays for me as a running back totally took me out of the game. Another key factor was the mouse pointer bug, this would cause the mouse pointer to randomly appear in the middle of the screen and move players around. (apparently a common bug since pre-release)

Once again, these are only my opinions. I have since returned this game, since there was honestly not enough content to enjoy past the first few hours. Maybe on console with a few friends it would be more enjoyable, but as a PC title you need to be able to be enjoyed as a single player experience.

I have to rate this madden at a 1/10, due to the fact it held my attention for such a small amount of time. If i am comparing this to my experiences in Madden 16 i would say buy that and update the rosters.

Thank you for reading my review.

We all paid EA to be their beta testers for this trash. Graphical glitches everywhere (just look around online), the sliders are beyond messed up and some don't even seem to change anything, Same old bugs that console users have reported for Years have gone ignored yet again. This isn't EA being cool about it and bringing Madden back to PC. This is EA trying to sell more copies of the same recycled bs that pissed everyone off last year. Never again. If this is how you're going to make and sell a "AAA" game, you aren't wanted here. EDIT: I suppose calling ourselves beta testers is unfair, as EA isn't going to actually fix any of this. Expand
