It’s refreshing to see a game tackle hard issues so earnestly, and I can honestly say this is a story which will stay with me long after playing.
Mafia III has so many technical issues that it's really hard to ignore them. But the game is something you should try because of the way Hangar 13 has dealt with the racism issue. Everyone should play this game and learn the hard way how terrible racism can be.

Acabei de zerar o jogo agora, e simplesmente não sei porque a galera criticou tanto esse game. Zerei o 1, 2 e 3 em sequência, e os três são sensacionais, mas, para mim, o 3 supera os outros dois em QUASE tudo. É uma pena a maioria das pessoas irem na ideia de youtubers que provavelmente nem jogaram o jogo todo, mas mesmo assim teceram diversas críticas.
Enfim, as missões são legais, a trilha sonora nem se fala (a melhor que já vi em um jogo de videogame até hoje, com Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Creedence, Jimi Hendrix e outros gigantes do Jazz) e a história é tão boa quanto as outras duas, apenas joguem.

I acknowledge that this may have seemed like a departure from Mafia 2. However, I sincerely appreciate the shift in direction that Hangar 13 has taken with this game. I am pleased to note that the driving experience remains consistent, which is a positive aspect for me. Furthermore, the shooting mechanics have been revamped and the characters contribute to an atmosphere reminiscent of a dramatic television series. The overall result is truly astounding.

It's unfortunate that the Mafia III gameplay isn't anywhere near as compelling as the storytelling. An ingenious mix of setting and characters has been established to generate a believable spin on organized crime, but the game mechanics are nowhere near as impressive in either design or execution.
Mafia 3 is a great storytelling about revenge, hatred and discrimination. The setting is convincing and the game offers a lot of fun, but the open world gameplay gets repetitive very quickly with only a few missions that are actually excellent.
Mafia III as a narrative alone is a commendable effort, and is unlikely to be forgotten for that very reason. It takes a hard look at a life many of us have never led, and challenges players with an experience most could never truly know. Ultimately though, even the strongest of stories can't save Mafia III from falling prey to genre conventions, and too many at that.
It masterfully hits the target in terms of its characters, story, and setting, lulling you into a misplaced belief you're playing something really special. Unfortunately, once the grind of taking over territory kicks in, and the lack of originality in much of its mission design is laid bare, it almost completely ruins the experience. It's fortunate then, that the excellent gunplay, the occasional enjoyable story mission, and the spot-on presentation provides just enough of an incentive to see things through to its bloody conclusion.
Like the era it paints, Mafia III feels like a relic. It's dated, has obvious flaws, and doesn't hold up particularly well when compared to a lot of modern works.
My favorite game great music and story 2k really fixed the game graphics are midbut the open world and story is great it is a must buy if you love open world story games it's a little repetitive but very fun

Yes the gameplay is repetitive however the story is quite good as it is a good revenge story. I found the gameplay to be exceptional with really fun gunplay.

I recommend this game as well.
For me, it's the weakest of the franchise, but the story is still well-written and Lincoln is great protagonist and probably the most badass. The gunplay and melee combat is great and the game looks amazing visually with solid performance.
The game can be bogged down with overly repetive mission structures and taking over districts is pretty much doing the same thing over and over with very little variation in level design and layout.

Gave it 4 points for the story and atmosphere but i quit playing the game.
I am not racist at all yet when I buy a "mafia" game, I expect to be part of it. Especially the third instalment. I played mafia 1 and 2 because I wanted to be an italian in the italian mafia. Playing a black guy and exploring racism isnt a freakin mafia game. I am sorry to all my good and lovely blacks. Thats like watching movie about slavery and switching the script and instead focusing on life as a coloniolist. You ruined a series man
