Jul 14, 2015Hard to tell if I love this. There are many things that were upgraded from the original, but still something is missing. Not sure, this is cute, allright, and Vlad is back, but I just couldn't get into it.

Sep 4, 2022Pro
- Character are silly like the first game
- Creative spell combat
Cons
- Story not memorable
- Control is quite convoluted for controller use.
- Need to finish it as soon as possible to not be forgotten and left behind unfinished.. -
Jul 9, 2022Somewhat short, fun co-op game. Nice humour here and there. Don't even bother playing it alone.

Mar 15, 2023Action game where you're supposed to cast a huge number of different spell - that simply doesn't work because you can't cast those spells in a comfortable way. You have to press sequences of keys for EACH spell cast, and you simply forget those sequences. There is a lot of humor in the game as well but I didn't find it funny or smart.

Pelit (Finland)Sep 1, 2015Magicka 2 is like its predecessor, in good and bad alike. Feels like Magicka 1.7, not 2.0. [Aug 2015]

Aug 26, 2015A great experience and one that stays true to the Magicka franchise. Not a lot has happened since last time though, and some minor issues keep the game from reaching the same levels as the original.

Game World Navigator MagazineAug 21, 2015Game’s derivativeness doesn’t diminish despite developer’s diligence: the humor is noticeably stale, and game situations lack variety. There’s just no progress in the series, which in itself is a step backwards. [Sept 2015, p.83]
