Dec 31, 2016Maldita Castilla EX its great game for those who love old school titles that offer challenge, require skill, and represent a journey to nostalgia. You will enjoy its level design and immersive setting. Highly recommend.
-
Jan 18, 2017Cursed Castilla respects its action/platformer roots and delivers a brilliant retro-gaming experience.
-
Jan 20, 2017Cursed Castilla: Maldita Castilla EX is a perfect example of the kind of well-crafted, hair-pulling experience that adventure fans know all too well. Controls are precise, the retro look is as authentic as you'll get without modern flourishes, and the gameplay feels perfect, even if it is highly difficult. Some will dislike the tedious means of getting a better ending, but those who cut their teeth on the 16-bit era of platformers will be right at home here.

Nov 28, 2016A pure tribute to the arcade games of the 80s, like Ghost'n Goblins or Rastan. It is a not a mere copy but it has a own soul, universe and mythology inspired by the medieval spanish tradition.
-
Jan 10, 2017Cursed Castilla is, objectively speaking, a good game, even if you are not a fan of the genre. I would recommend one thing, however, much to the chagrin of OPNoobs Executive Producer Shane Gamez: play this game with a controller.

Jul 19, 2017Cursed Castilla is as good as it was five years ago. You can play the original game - for free - on the Locomalito site, and this Nintendo 3DS version suffers from some problems, like the plain ugly coin-op mode or the really tiny graphics. Should you decide to buy the portable version, though, know that it's best played on a 3DS XL.

Dec 31, 2016I’ve no doubt that there’s a hardcore segment of gamers who will appreciate what Cursed Castilla is going for, and for these players, it will certainly do a great job of bringing back a late-’80s sort of arcade experience in a way that few retro-inspired projects accomplish. For most players, though, I feel that it’ll be viewed as a cute little oddity and little more.
