Raw, otherworldly and at times, hauntingly familiar. Masochisia is a dark diamond hidden from plain sight. The experience it offers to the brave souls who seek it out, lingers long after its disturbing end.

The narrative of Masochisia is terribly fascinating. It tackles issues that are definitely not for minors, and the heavy use of graphic and unsettling imagery are not for the easily offended. In fact, there's very little about this game that makes it recommendable, seeing it is easily one of the most upsetting and visually distressing video games in existence.

Just go play this game, because it deserves a look, and it will be interesting to see what Jon Oldblood’s mind gives us in the future.

In the end, Masochisia is not a very successful game no matter how unflinchingly or creatively it examines its subject matter.

The ending certainly proved to me that Jon Oldblood knows how to think outside the limits of what's considered normal.

If you’ve got no problem delving into some of the darker corners of the human mind, this is a solid pick-up.

The narrative is delightfully disturbing, but Masochisia needed more meat to its gameplay.

But the script and the haunting music ensured that the story stayed with me long after I'd played it. It makes you think about the decisions you make and the moral dilemmas we all face in life. It's amazing. Expand
