If I had to choose just one game to play for the rest of my life, it would be Melty Blood. [07/2016, p.74]
Despite a lackluster package surrounding the awe-inspiring gameplay, it’s a game that has stood the test of time and people who are passionate about fighting games owe it to themselves to pay it a visit.

Online is unreliable but otherwise this game is fantastic! Tons of options, a sizable roster, and deep, fast paced 2-D fighting make this an incredibly satisfying diversion. If you like playing fighting games in single player or local 2-player, this a must-purchase. So glad I gave it a try!

We're really happy to have a game like this in the West, particularly when it a title as solid as this one. It's a great fighting game, but if you also know the universe it's based on, you want to give MBAACC a try.
The release and quick subsequent patches show that ECOLE and French-Bread are intent on seeing Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code has a long lasting presence in the minds of American fighting game fans.
Despite its age, Melty Blood is a deep and engrossing fighter with a lot to offer. Whether it’ll have a lasting place in this ever shifting anime fighters market is unclear but I’m glad to see it finally released in the States all the same.
Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code feels like a game that came out five years too late. It’s fun and interesting to play for a while, but French Bread has better games that you can play right now for a similar price.
Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code should be a much better game than it is, as the base game is very solid. It’s disappointing to see a strong base and nothing supporting it.
Fun and fluid fighting game with good combo system and great selection of anime characters.

To be fair I already played this game for quite some time 10 or so years ago so I may have a nostalgic/unbiased opinion on this game.
Anyway the key elements of this game are unique and complex mechanics, combat fairness, strangely unique background music and Type-Moon characters/lore.
Game's graphics are old and cheap, even if well animated, but that's not why you're buying this game, since that would be mechanics.
The game is definitely not user friendly: there's no proper tutorial, the combat system is cryptic and because of its own complexity I cannot recommend this game to casual players (unless you're playing with friends, casual players too). On the other hand if you're willing to study and learn from external resources things like moon stances, bnb (bread'n'butter in fighting game slang) and general attack strings of all characters, frame times, etc you will enjoy the deepness of Melty Blood combat system and the game as a whole.
Melty Blood is one of the best fighting games (thinking eSport wise) of the past decade(s) and in my opinion should be on any fighting game enthusiast's library.
TL;DR: You're buying this game because of its great/complex combat system and because of Type-Moon, not really targeted to casual players (read above for further explanations)

Summary All playable characters comes with 3 separate styles for players to choose from - "Crescent Moon Style", "Full Moon Style" and "Half Moon Style". Each style exhibits a different behaviour for the selected character, experiment away to discover your own combat style.
