  • Summary: Monstrum grabs the traditional survival horror formula and remixes it wholly with procedurally-generated levels, permadeath, and AI driven predators, ensuring that nowhere on its derelict cargo ship is ever truly safe.

Monstrum is a game of hide-and-seek, with random generated levels. It works, but the entire game lacks of consistency.

Despite its original concept, Monstrum will probably bore you to death.

What's meant to be the ultimate cruise from hell is exactly that - but for all the wrong reasons. [Summer 2015, p.76]

Random rooms/items and monster every time make the game RE PLAYABLE and not boring. You have to be careful in order to escape so that the monsters that hide in the boat don't hear you. The game provides you with distractions to help you achieve your goal and it gives you a plethora of ways to get out!

What is more, this game IS scary. The environment, music and behavior of monsters in this game make you feel unsettled and quickly turn it creepy. I ENJOY THIS LEVEL TO THE MAXIMUM and definitely recommend it! ;)

This is not even a very bad "Amnesia" copy. The graphics, the animations, the sounds, the story (the lack of it), the meaningless difficulty...etc. Everything about this game looks so unfinished and so empty. A horror game should terrify you, not kill you 1527 times just after you open the second door. What a waste ! Expand
