netjakProbably the best game I had the pleasure to play this year. Combining a very simple concept with a good presentation and an addictive enough gameplay to keep me playing for years to come, the game has breathed a lot of fresh air into the otherwise stale gaming market.
-
Moonbase Commander will stand out as the sleeper hit of 2002 and it deserves all the praise I am sure it will get.
-
A solid turn based strategy game that is surprisingly well designed.
-
It's a really fun game that you can easily install at work to burn some time when your boss isn't looking, or just whittle away an hour or two without noticing the time pass.
-
A solid and extremely fun game that will probably be overlooked by many in favor of more high-profile titles. It's a shame really, because Moonbase Commander's simple focus and gameplay is an excellent example of substance over style.
-
Computer Games MagazineDon't let its budget price fool you, MoonBase Commander is an incredibly entertaining game regardless of its price tag and quirky online support. [Nov 2002, p.86]
-
Computer Gaming WorldAdults might find it simplistic, repititious, and boring, but it's possible that younger kids might find it accessible, challenging, and addictive. [Nov 2002, p.124]
