All I can say for sure is that the game evokes a strong one more match before I quit mentality. The gameplay and the rules work like an oiled machine keeping a steam engine rolling. Of course, the play can get a bit repetitive and there could be more variety, but then again, it wouldn’t be the same game anymore.
From its amusing setting to its solid gameplay mechanics, Murderous Pursuits has a lot going for it. When you boil it down, it’s a fun game to play, especially with a few friends to share in the antics.
Take the premise of Assassin's Creed multiplayer and that is pretty much this game. The art style is great along with the pleasant vinyl soundtrack gives it that old Victorian Britain style. It has a steampunk feel to the game. Albeit the graphics aren't all that great. The game, after about an hour, gets very repetitive and find yourself asking why are you still playing with very little to gain from the game. For what the game is all about, and it's a simple idea, it's very pricey. The matchmaking is very poor and sometimes just can't enter a match. It is good if you find yourself without a game and want to kill an hour or so. The idea is good but could have had a lot more added to the game.
Murderous Pursuits is a fine continuation of The Ship and the concepts it implemented so well. The core of the game is extremely solid, delivering a fun multiplayer experience throughout every match. The only problem is that there's just not enough here to keep most people coming back on a regular schedule. For the price the amount of content is fine, but the missing potential at launch is tough to get past.
The great potential of the game on hunters and victims has not been used. Murderous Pursuits would need more content, technical care and, ultimately, players to escape the stereotype.
Murderous Pursuits is an irregular experience with a strong lack of elements to produce a real motivation to enjoy hours and hours of murdering in the ship. It's a shame: looks different than any other game lately.
Murderous Pursuits is an interesting "kill-or-be-killed" multiplayer game ideia. I consider it only an interesting "ideia", because the execution lack some touch...
Graphically the game is OK, with an interesting art style. But unfortunately the game is repetitive and even boring after a few hours. And in addition to that I try the game in different hours and it is not always easy to find other players online to play it.
Unfortunately my playing experience was poor and the game was weak and could not hold my interest.
Due to that I do not recommend it.
It can be fun with friends, but no one is playing the game. 100% dead game, no one playing it online, and since there's no single player mode, it's just a waste of money. I don't recommend it.
SummaryMurderous Pursuits is a kill-or-be-killed Victorian stealth-em-up for 1-8 players in which you must hunt and kill your quarry before your hunters do the same to you, all while avoiding witnesses.
