That's an open question, but one that Nexuiz does a terrific job of elucidating. This game is all about the core of the FPS genre--multiplayer gaming. Although it has a basic campaign, the people behind Nexuiz seemed to recognize that FPS's aren't about back-story or character development; that way lies cliched wars and improbable victories. Rather, Nexuiz IS about quickness, tactics, and high-speed decision-making, all garnished with gratuitous graphics and an excellent, simple interface. It's like the Chrome of the FPS world, making things faster, simpler, better. Although the game has a bit of a learning curve (would you ultimately like an FPS that didn't?) and is susceptible to the vagaries of its players' schedules, its unique combination of tactics, reflexes and adrenaline will keep you fraggin' until long past when you shouldn't be. I admit Nexuiz history is awful because of what happened with the Steam version (conclusion the multplayer there was terrible), but the NexuizI admit Nexuiz history is awful because of what happened with the Steam version (conclusion the multplayer there was terrible), but the Nexuiz (2005) it's an awesome, nostalgic, well made game!
Nice graphics, perfect sound, good gameplay.
But some of the servers crash to much and the game has some useless weapons.
