Nobody Saves the World is a superb adventure, with lots of to see, do, experiment with, and have lots of crazy fun whilst doing so.

Nobody Saves the World is an enticing adventure through and through. The first time I stumbled upon a decaying dragon corpse or the rusted remains of a giant robot and knew I had to fight baddies inside their guts, I was sold. But DrinkBox Studios transformed the combat of a top-down adventure game into a magical experience by literally allowing the player to transform into the most typical and bizarre forms imaginable. Who knew an action game would allow players to become an egg that helplessly rolled through cat warlocks or a horse that could only attack when facing away from danger? These unique forms make for equally unique combat that merely ask the player to constantly experiment with the tools they are given. And who can say that isn’t fun? Nobody.

Nobody Saves the World is a hack n' slash that starts from a quite casual approach, due to the lack of both inventory and skill points distribution, but shows its real depth after a few hours of play, when we are called to experiment with thousands of different builds to to better tear all enemies to pieces. The repetitiveness that generally plagues this kind of games is kept under control thanks to fun quests and a plot that takes us on a tour around a crazy world. Absolutely recommended both for hack n' slash lovers and for those who want to approach to this genre of games without taking them too seriously.

This game surprises for its simplicity and, at the same time, for the complexity of some of its game mechanics. Nobody Saves The World is always fun, with nice characters and never boring fights (even if monsters are quite repetitive).

For those looking for some co-op fun, Nobody Saves the World is your game. If you’ve got a buddy that likes top-down action RPGs, make sure to add this one to your queue.

With Nobody Saves The World, DrinkBox Studios once again proves its talent, between a wacky setting and a relevant game system.

It may sound harsh, but Nobody Saves the World really threw all my pet peeves into a barrel and gave it a nice coat of paint. To give this game some props though, the co-op is fun for a little while and the game plays well. The coat of paint is, without a lie, a really nice art style. It’s just that the grind really sucks and it makes you grind from THE INTRO DUNGEON. Oh right, I was supposed to be talking about the positives. Probably the best thing about this game is that it has a very long potential gameplay time, and if you have a kid or a casual friend you want to relax and punch some monsters with, Nobody Saves the World might be a really good game.

I see other reviews complaining about gameplay loops being a "grind" and that absolutely baffles me. What is grindy about having nearly 20 "forms" to play through? Bored with one play style, change it up. Add another feature from a different form. And the "grinds" are all incredibly reasonable. Most quests to continue to develop your forms require you to do an action 10 or 20 times. The ones that require a lot more (do X 400 times) are skills that are often spammed and the quest will resolve itself before you notice.

The gameplay is tight, the monster variety is good enough. The way you attain forms and develop your forms is a lot of fun and gives you great reward feedback. This game is perfect for the type of person who likes to roll "alts" in a MMO style game because you enjoy exploring the gameplay of different classes.

The only complaint I could have is that the game can be a bit too easy if you are a completionist and focus on developing characters early.

I am over halfway through the game and am looking forward to getting 100% completion on this. It's definitely my cup of tea!

Loved it. Easily put in 20 hours without thinking. Reminds me of South Park Fracture But Whole. Short but very carefully crafted. LovedLoved it. Easily put in 20 hours without thinking. Go into a dungeon, kite some monsters, make your numbers go up, rinse and repeat. Not worth my time.

    the good:

    - graphics: so nice to see a rpg that is not using them lame pixel graphics (the nes era is over!) or made with overrated rpgmaker with huge breasted anime characters.
    - music: soundtrack is awesome

    the bad:
    - grindfest: you have to grind like hell only way to get exp is to do quests and you have to do this with each form. So you have to level up every form to S rank and even when you do level up the baddies level up with you! so you can grind as much as you want and later on you still get creamed in the higher dungeons even at lvl 60+! you have to spend literally hours doing this
    - never enough mana: later on you have to constantly use mana and your always running out (especially with the dragon he EATS IT like candy!) if you run out of mana during a boss (and you will) your pretty much screwed
    - wards ruin the whole game: this is the reason i stopped playing this. some dungeons have mobs with wards on them so you have to equip certain abilities to counter them. you can never make your perfect build since you have to constantly change abilities or swap to other forms than swap back to get rid of wards! you can't kill a baddy with a ward they are invincible. during boss fights is incredibly frustrating since there are so many mobs coming at you it's really hard to see what ward they have and you end up getting slaughtered because they can attack you but you can't attack them unless you have the right ability and if you don't run out of mana (you will)
    - dungeons are cut and paste: each dungeon is exactly the same just with a different look go around smashing stuff to get money, mana and food enter an area where usually a huge group of mobs is and kill them than move on rinse and repeat.
    - nothing like zelda: you see them screenshots with a huge world to explore etc? hate to break it to you but the map is pretty much empty all you do is kill baddie mobs in your way, do a quest here and there which ends up giving you a poor amount of exp or enter a dungeon now and than but they are all the same (see above)

    verdict:
    - too grindy
    - mobs are way OP later on
    - can't powerlevel since baddies match your stats in higher level dungeons
    - boring dungeons
    - always run out of mana so you have to constantly switch to nobody and use slap (except during a boss)
    - can't use dragon properly without having to replenish mana after Evey single mob fight.
    - wards SUCK
