Nom Nom Galaxy is an interesting hybrid, although the variety of experiences might mean that a lot of players will have to fail a lot before they discover exactly how to approach the problem of soup production and shipping.

NNG is about as relaxing as an afternoon with Papers, Please. It’s also a hell of a lot of fun.

None of the separate parts – the platforming, the construction, the light strategy – stand out as particularly refined or able to stand toe to toe with games that just focus on one of those things, but Q-Games has put them all together in a package that is much more than the sum of its parts, hiding its flaws under the satisfying pace and multitude of unlockable rewards and newly discovered recipes.

Ironically, this game is indeed a soup, full of different elements and with a pretty good taste. It's definitely not the deepest game around, but it will keep you entertained for a while. Probably the best “soup making simulator” around, which is not saying much, but still.

Despite its depth and good looks, Nom Nom Galaxy falls victim to repetitive mechanics, frustrating mobility and slow progression. Fortunately, this soup is cheap enough as to seduce you if you love factories or robots.

Nom Nom Galaxy is a game with some fun gameplay and a unique setting, but its technical problems really hold it back. A few cups of Nom Nom soup is all it takes before it feels stale.

Nom Nom Galaxy offers some fairly interesting additions to the genre while also attempting to critique Capitalism and human excess. It can be entertaining for a while, but just doesn’t do enough to stop that ‘samey’ feeling from creeping in all too quickly.
