    With its arcade orientation, its cartoonish aspect and most of the 18 events that hold up, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games - The Official Game does its job quite well, although we would probably have preferred a game more in the vein of London 2012 to name but one. However, it remains a fun game to play with family and locally, the multiplayer being deserted. The game alone will not hold you back for long once all the events have been played two or three times.

    Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game is a functional and serviceable sports video game at best. While it features various events, the play mechanics and controls are too basic, so there isn't much long-term replay value. The biggest problem here is that the experience sits somewhere between a sports simulator and an arcade game, and it doesn't succeed with either approach.

    Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game is comprised of a very watered down collection of minigames that offer just a few fleeting moments of fun. Fans looking for something casual might as well pick up the Mario & Sonic spinoff instead - and even so, temper your expectations.

This mode is much worse than FIFA 07, which is over 14 years old. The other game modes aren't quite as tragic as the one with soccer, but they're not great either. However, some modes, such as the ball throw or the long jump, are well done and actually imitated. Unfortunately, most of the characters in the game look worse than those in the The Sims 3/4. This doesn't look like a 50$ game, it just looks like a $5 game and should be worth that… Expand
