Planet Ancyra Chronicles appears to be made by a team of developers who are each individually good at their jobs ā€“ the level design, the narrative design, and the score all have their moments. Unfortunately, it seems the team suffered from miscommunication, because this titleā€™s individual parts struggle to fit together into a single, cohesive experience. Perhaps only the most persistent of players will be able to make it to the end of this otherwise interesting story.

The player just moves through the levels collecting text and audio elements that slowly reveal the plot. There is no need for crouching or jumping, no need for weapons as there are no enemies, but you will need lots of coffee to stay awake.

The game is split into two parts that don't quite work seamlessly together. In the first part of the game the player has to pick up certain objects to use in collecting plot details, in the second part the player need not pick up anything other than to inspect a random object that does nothing and can't be used for anything. The only useful player control is the run button, but even running is too slow. Run away.
