Computer Games MagazineThe uncanny shortage of "Diablo" fans with an interest in the obscurities of Chinese history probably limits the game's appeal. [Nov 2002, p.87]
-
A mediocre game -- but in a good way. Its got some problems that are patchable, but the pacing is good and theres always a quest to go on.
-
The graphical elements need some help and the dialogue is overwritten and overacted.
-
Control of your characters could've been tighter, and the AI could've been a little more intelligent in battle situations.
-
A decidedly awkward English translation, some lackluster production values, and a poorly implemented multiplayer mode all prevent it from having the same appeal as the games that influenced it.
-
The mold is nothing but restrictive, choking off a good idea with subpar graphics and a general feel of incompleteness. This idea deserved better.
-
Computer Gaming WorldFor every potentially cool element in Prince of Qin, there's a worse one waiting to kneecap it. [Jan 2003, p.124]

Mar 8, 2022The game was pretty good when it was released 20 years ago. If you are interested in Chinese history, it is still a god one even today.
