Nov 24, 2020Raji: An Ancient Epic is a beautiful game, set in a world and culture that is wildly under-represented in the medium. From the first minute you can immerse yourself in Raji’s adventure, and for all the urgency of stopping the designs of the nefarious demons, it’s very hard not to just stop and admire the scenery along the way. Do yourself a favour, pick this one up, and broaden your horizons a little bit.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 4, 2021On tips of your fingers there is Raji slicing her way through the demons hordes of the hindu myths under the striking imaginery of Indian paintings. Time in this game is well spent. [Issue#308]

Dec 14, 2020In all, Raji: An Ancient Epic was a great game. Yes, I had some problems with it’s length and the ending but if I step back and look at the game in its entirety, I can recognize that Raji was a gorgeous game. It was educational and made me want to learn more. My hope is that we’ll get a sequel to be able to explore ancient India once again and perhaps right the wrongs this game committed...only time will tell.

Oct 15, 2020Ultimately, the most remarkable thing about Raji is that sense of playing a legend straight out of the Puranas, albeit not nearly as long or impactful. It may not be a mythological masterpiece, but Raji: An Ancient Epic feels like a prelude for what's to come from Nodding Heads.

CD-ActionFeb 8, 2021Raji is set in a rarely explored (and therefore refreshing) setting of Hindu mythology that definitely works in its favor, and offers gameplay mechanics resembling a Prince of Persia game on a budget. The protagonist is as agile as Price and the game is generally enjoyable, but the platforming sections are too easy to pose a challenge, and the combat is not meaty enough to be satisfying. Dec 27, 2020Raji: An Ancient Epic can offer you some scenic locations, plenty of platforming, and a rather boring combat system. The main selling point here is not Raji herself, but the godlike beings, telling the tales of the Indian mythology, heavily intertwined with with the game's overall storyline.

Oct 20, 2020Unparalleled presentation and atmosphere spoiled by unwieldly combat and clumsy level design. The most memorable moments happen when your hands are off the controls.

Oct 29, 2020View the game within its context, and it's an excellent title. If for no other reason than to spit in the face of VICE.

Nov 27, 2020This game is very different than the others. They really try something but they didn't effort for the mechanics, bugs etc.
