"Rambo sucks major ass, but the game is actually so bad, that in some crooked way it's good. It's an interactive turd, but the transition from bad action movies to bad action games is as smooth as possible. [Apr 2014]"

"Developers did all they could to diversify the gameplay but Rambo remains a simple game that quickly becomes repetitive and boring. [04/2014, p.63]"
"It’s a B-movie game in every sense, but approach it with sufficiently lowered expectations, and you may just be pleasantly surprised."

"It's not being corny and schlocky on purpose, which means that for all its faults Rambo honestly taps into the spirit of 1980s action cinema more deeply than you might expect - not in spite of its rough edges, but because of them."

"It's only when the game reaches Soviet-occupied Afghanistan, the weakest of the movies, that the game boasts moments of genuine enjoyment. [Issue#146, p.119]"
"If you want to watch John Rambo mow through waves of baddies in violent and satisfying fashion, watch the final half hour of the 2008 film. Don’t spend your money and time to recreate any moments in this cheap, broken wreck."

"Rambo: The Videogame has its good moments and in these moments it can be enjoyable. But when all is said and done, it's nothing more than a mediocre on-rails shooter."

"It’s a dumb and silly game, and sure, it’s not what you would call a good video game, but deep down there is some sort of hidden charm that makes me have a guilty pleasure when the game’s doing its best. "

"It is a short, trashy and utterly trivial punch line to one of the more amusing running gags of past games trade-shows. Still, in a drunken co-op session with a pal you could do a lot worse than this. In some ways this is the game the second and third installment of the movie franchise deserved. That doesn't make it better, but you can't help but think that there's some success in that."

"There’s no getting around the fact that on-rails shooters just feel restrictive, and Rambo is a score-attack game that’s gotten a bit lost in time."

"Rambo: The Video Game is clearly a cash-in, but one that makes little sense, with little relevance. "

"Quotation forthcoming."
"Rambo: The Video Game is an awkward, short, ugly and expensive game that tries to generate some nostalgia, but ultimately fails. Instead of spending money on Teyon's creation, it's better to watch the entire game on YouTube, or better yet - watch all the movies. And the best thing to do is: go for a walk, find a video arcade and beat Virtua Cop one more time."

"In 2014, the idea of slogging through an entirely scripted, arcade rail-shooter with a mouse or a joypad feels like an unmitigated waste of time for everybody involved."

"Rambo: The Video Game is indeed "Your worst nightmare." This on-rails shooting gallery looks and plays like a game made by two monkeys. And it doesn’t even turn blue..."

"This is not "funny bad," it's just plain abysmal. [May 2014, p.79]"
"Rambo: The Video Game is not a video game at all. They just tried and ruined it. You can't interact with the character or the story, you are just a watcher. Rather than playing this game, you should watch the Rambo movie series. At least that makes you feel better."

"Duck hunt overloaded with QTEs and terrible graphics. Stay away. [Issue #240]"
"Furthermore, f... this game...Ugly as sin, flimsy beyond belief, and chock full of some of the worst barely-interactive gameplay you'll "enjoy" so far this year."

"If you found funny a scene from The Big Bang Theory in which Sheldon is willing to voluntarily endure a colonoscopy, know you are going to endure the similar torture by playing Rambo: The Video Game."

"The fact that Rambo: The Video Game is being sold for almost full retail price is insulting, not to mention the fact that it feels mostly unfinished and uninspired."
