Even though the first-person shooting elements in Quake and car combat elements in Interstate '76 are better, Redline is very close to both. The game may not reinvent the 2 genres, but it at least matches the standards. The graphics and music also do not seem dated, despite being from 1999. Multiplayer is also a strong point, especially having to counter your friends' use of both on-foot and vehicles.

The default controls are poor and must be changed ("free-look" is a must for vehicles). The replay value is poor, as once you beat the game, there isn't much else to do except multiplayer. The AI Is also a bit like cannon fodder, and are only randomized when they're in a vehicle. Those are the only 3 negatives about the game.

Overall, it's a very solid game, and if you're a fan of first-person shooters like Quake/Unreal/Duke Nukem 3D, car combat games like Interstate '76/Carmageddon/Twisted Metal, or mixtures like Rage/Mad Max/Necrodome, you will love Redline too.

Nice technology demo, flawed but still quite good cars gun play.. + average fps in huge levels, now it could seems boring, but back in theNice technology demo, flawed but still quite good cars gun play.. + average fps in huge levels, now it could seems boring, but back in the age, technology was amazing.
Complicated controls, too dark, 30 FPS lock PC, but you can say that Rage other more modern games, just used have concept only more advanced technology.
