Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days by Big Star Games is a third-person top-down shooter with few connections to Quentin Tarantino’s film other than it being about gangsters with color-coded names; and yet Bloody Days partially succeeds in its aspiration to revive a classic for crime and gangster films, while offering a time-rewind mechanics that helps the game distinct itself from the pool of titles in the top-down shooter category.

It’s not the worst thing that could’ve happened to the film: Big Games didn’t try to remaster, remake or reimage the cult classic. In fact, the game and the film have nothing in common except for names, general setting and mismatched quotes that were used to make new dialogue – and no one gets upset when, say, a new pinball machine themed after their favorite franchise comes out. Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days is a top down shooter where you can rewind time to use various Mr. Brown, Mr. Pink and the rest of the gang to do various bloody heists. The idea is nice but the game quickly become boring and repetitive.

If the game was meant to be a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the film, little of it will be found. As a game of robberies, the rewind mechanics are interesting, but they do not work well enough to be satisfactory.

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days gives birth to a great idea but offers nothing more. Despite the interesting rewind mechanics, this is a boring game, confusing and very repetitive.

Even though Bloody Days tries to walk the walk and talk the talk, ultimately it feels less like a creative homage to a cult film classic and more like a shallow imitation with a hint of Tarantino flair.

Even if it wasn't a gross misuse of a license, Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days is a boring, buggy game with a universal selling point that's nowhere as fun, or as smart, as it thinks it is. And just like Joe Cabot, I'm so goddamn mad hollering at you guys, I can hardly talk.

Meet your favorite characters from the movie, who doesn't look like them at all and have only same names. Enjoy horribly boring gameplay where you have to play with one character, then rewind (who the f**k had that stupid idea) and play the other character and do almost the same like before. OMG...this is just Hatred for kids. Expand
