A rare gem of a game, BOB is a beautiful, detailed, yet manageable recreation of the battle for the skies of Britain. Complex enough for dedicated simulation enthusiasts yet scaleable for the novice, this is one simulation done right.
This isn't necessarily the Battle of Britain, it's YOUR Battle of Britain, and that makes it a game that anyone interested in that great battle, and flight in general, must have in their collection.
Probably the most comprehensive treatment of the epic air campaign ever done on the computer.
Hardcore desk-jockeys will definitely not want to pass up the chance to recreate one of the most dreaded battles in aviation history, and when you see the sky full of fighters and bombers, you will understand just how enjoyable Rowan's Battle of Britain can be.
Flight simulations are notoriously difficult to get right and Battle of Britain is a valiant effort: experienced pilots looking for a challenge or a history lesson should consider this game - beginners might be better off elsewhere.
A surprisingly well-executed game (after the patch) which is unfortunately obscured a bit by the difficult interface.
Unfortunately, all of these nicely designed elements are somewhat wasted due to the irritation caused by actually flying the planes.
