Scribblenauts Unlimited is a bigger game than the previous. It offers more chances to put your creativity to the test and its replay value is through the roof. Granted, it doesn't offer the same type of challenge as previous version, but that also decreases the frustration that might come with said challenge. If you're looking for a game that is fun for the kids, and the adults, in the house then look no further than this.

Fans of adventure and puzzle games seeking a gameplay experience that's both addictive and unique will find plenty to enjoy in Scribblenauts Unlimited. Those gamers looking for more of a challenge will find the game's difficulty to be disappointing.

Despite some dips in overall puzzle difficulty this time around, the game has a massive amount of content to both discover and create from scratch.

This is still a solid puzzle game, but 5th cell smoothed out too many edges that made the other Scribblenauts so special.

Get comfortable and grab a dictionary: word-wizard Maxwell is out on a quest to save lives. Don’t expect an innovative sequel, Scribblenauts Unlimited is the improved version of a known concept.

Still you'd have to be pretty cold at heart to not give this charismatic funny vocabulary driven insanity at least a chance. Sure, most of what it does is only funny the first and maybe the second time around. And it is also true that many of the smaller challenges it pits against you aren't interesting (or challenging) at all. But there's also recurring moments of pure comedy gold, when your words prompt characters to do hilarious five-second skits or random items send the scene into a cartoonishly homicidal chain reaction.

Almost a perfect tool to practice foreign language lacks the core playability – the creative solutions are not supported unfortunately. [Jan 2013]

This game is VERY creative, and you can really add your own little touch to everything you do. Need to kill some flies? Fly swatter? Or maybe Giant Purple Handsome Strong Shiny Fly Swatter? Or maybe a gun. You can even look like anything you want. Cat stuck in a tree? Ladder? How about a helicopter with a ladder attached to it. You can even make your own weird and wacky creations from scratch and share them all across the world! The thing that lets this game down is the lack of multi-player, if it had that, I might consider this game perfect. Because of the sharing, PC is probably the best console for this. Not only does this game inspire you, but you can inspire other people with it. Just.... Fantastic. Expand

Although Scribblenauts gets old pretty quickly (due to the repetitive nature of the game) it’s still a very refreshing experience that puts you in control to tackle situations in any way you like! It really does encourage you to be silly; the main aim is to craft items with a magic notebook that makes anything you write in it appear (within moderation… of course). You then use these items to help all the troubled souls throughout the world while collecting starites to lift a curse put on your sister to save her from completely turning to stone! It’s definitely a game worth looking at; merely for being so different and its pleasant cartoony graphics! Expand

So I quicklyI first played the original scribblenauts on the DS a couple of years ago and it was one of my favorite games on the system. So I quickly bought Scribblenauts Unlimited for the PC and have to say it was kind of disappointing. The original game had two types of levels puzzle and action. Puzzle levels were ones where you had to help people with certain objects, such as giving a hungry person something to eat. Action levels, were my favorite levels. In action levels the only goal you had was to reach the starite. There was no specific way to do them as long as you got the starrite. In Scribblenauts Unlimited, action levels are nonexistent and even the puzzles that were not merely typing out an obvious object, seemed to be too easy, especially with the addition of adjectives and the ability to customize objects. That is not to say I did not enjoy the game, because I had a blast creating my own objects, but the creativity and thinking required from the original was hard to see in this new scribblenauts addition. A good game for children, and an adult will find something to do. A good way to learn some words, remember spelling, brain work developing ingenuity, you can pass using previous experience and with the same subjects, and you can come up with something of your own. A colorful game that gives a reason to relax, laugh and think about how you can help the next character.

    Great game.
I loved this game ever since I saw it on a friends cellphone. A being a not native speaker of English, this means that this game actually taught me words and played with me in a pretty fun way.
Can't say it is hard, there are some hard words, but still you only need to learn them and you got it.
Still i love the concept of imagination being the puzzle solver, and unfortunately no... no all words actually have the effect you desire, but that's how gaming goes for most of the time... you can't program for everything and language is something alive and ever changing.
But the pros are better than the cons IMO.

Really, the problem is that it is barely a game at all. It is more of a sandbox type deal, where you can write in a wide variety (though the dictionary does have very definite limits) of words and get random stuff.

The problem is that the game never challenges you to do anything creative or clever with it at all. Almost all the puzzles are incredibly simplistic, to the point where you can solve them with a single word 90%+ of the time, and the rest are merely "Give me 3 of X", where X is some category of things. OH BOY.

Most of the puzzles can be solved in under 30 seconds, and many can be solved in 3.

Is it fun? No, not really. And while the ability to create anything SEEMS fun, in the end it actually gets boring pretty quickly, which sucks what is the point of being able to create everything when you don't really need to, and can solve a shocking large number of puzzles just with "fire"? That's not fun. Being creative tends to take longer and not give different results, and the whole thing just isn't that exciting.

There are a few cute moments here and there, and a few things I thought were funny, but... mostly? It was just boring and empty as an experience.
