It took me eight hours to reach the conclusion, but Season doesn’t waste a moment — even if at times all I do is sit on a bench and look out over the landscape. I’m not sure I made all the best decisions along the way, and I’m tempted to run through the world again to see how things might have gone differently. It’s not for everyone, but I suspect SEASON: A letter to the future will be one of my favorite games this year.

Season: A letter to the future is a melancholic and touching ode to the things we leave behind, while the world continues on regardless. It’s beautiful, and those of an inquisitive nature should step into its world to create memories of their own.

Season: A Letter to the Future might not last long, but it's a lovely experience for anyone who enjoys taking their time, piecing together lore, and photographing everything they see.

A thought-provoking game that makes you think about Estelle's world, but also about our own, a meditation about what's important to us and worth saving. You'll learn a lot - about Estelle, but also about yourself and the decisions you make in the time that you have left.

Season: A Letter to the Future is a rush of emotions. You’ll feel happy, lonely, or even scared at any given time. It plays on the player’s curiosity and rewards those who take the time to explore. If you don’t have that time available, I’m afraid the experience will fall short. It’s a game that makes unremarkable situations remarkable through themes of memories and how we could lose everything in an instant.

SEASON is a poetic, meditative game, but it often bluntly calls too much attention to its intentions, especially with fussy dialogue like “I feel a dulcet tension in the air.” Then again, it does capture the soothing sensation that comes from immersing oneself in another world and learning about it, and with the exception of the game’s final encounter, it’s nothing if not consistent. In the end, SEASON isn’t about answers so much as it is about coping with loss. As one character puts it, repeating one word like a mantra, time always moves on: flow, flow, flow.

I am truly in love with the story told by the narration, the fact that some things are blurry at the first sight but being clearer when we reach deeper in the history. Characters are fascinating and well constructed with their own stories and personalities. The landscapes and graphic aspect are marvelous, I loved taking photographs of everything I see, even things that are just pretty and not a story's game related prop. The journal customization is very appreciable, I loved spending time put photographs by colorimetry, record songs I liked to hear, add texts and stickers that made a whole identity. The sound design is incredible, it make me emotional according to the visuals effects like in the raining map or when we are in the flower field. Like the painting related to an history aspect of human life, I loved and love travel in this universe endowed with his own personalities and secrets, I discover things I do not see in the first time I played, that make the come back more intense. I am personally in love with this game and its thematic and how everything is conducted. Expand

As the last observer, it is your duty to explore, record, document and unravel the mysteries of the valley before they all wash away from history forever.
The camera and recorder really take advantage of the gorgeous visuals and amazing sound design.
This journey is one of thoughtful and hopeful melancholy, and one that managed to deeply warm my soul on a level few games ever did.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game hit different than most I’ve played. An east paved atmospheric photography/scrapbooking game that hit a lot of feels. It was subtle in its themes that, to me, were about loss, memory, fear of change and connection. I really enjoyed this game! Definitely a calm easing experience that will make you reflect while also being a beautiful spectacle and an enjoyment to play! Expand

Season is an excellent departure from your standard single-player adventures. There are no bad guys to stomp on. Only you, a recorder and a camera. You're job is to capture as much of the world around you as the Season changes.

Provided an excellent, calming and gentle experience while playing. The only game I've ever played that keeps me calm.

I blame mushrooms for what kind of BS they developed :DDD

it's just an interactive insanity program™.there is a certain philosophy and metaphors and subtle messages that can mean anything. I seriously had the impression of how cold war agents used certain popular books to communicate by drawing a line between certain words or using a way to count words according to a numerical password to only read certain words that form a meaningful sentence so I called FBI for this program could be how commie agents communicate with each other around the world. I did my duty as perfect american **** yeah citizen :DDD

they thought this game would be boring if it was a walking simulator so they added the revolutionary feature of bicycle to ride on. so the game is boring in faster sense just because you can determine how boring the game faster thanks to bicycle

I have no idea of what's the deal of the character you control. this person looks like a male but why they have an obvious girl voice? did you want to make people surprised, doubt, google if they are male or female, do you want to seem like you support LGBT and SJW BS? only edward kenway wouldn't understand the character is a girl lmao

cannot make sense of the game because this is not art, it's just pure insanity or codes agents use. what's happening and what's the meaning of the game is not clear just because of all the subjectivity but it seems like a certain person would understand the meaning behind the game like a certain commie agent :DDD

in high school I had a friend who believed magic and whatnot **** so what's happening at the beginning of the game is what she would do. perhaps witch hunters didn't burn certain women for no reason :DDD

so all the program is about being forced to take pics and record sounds of everything the game forced you so don't expect to free roam a world and enjoy the world. this is not zelda botw even though they somehow stole its vibe. though craftopia is a better game. in this program you mostly listen to BS and make choices like what you like to smell and what to say to people. alas **** you" wasn't option in dialogues so instead you choose between lots of insane replies lol
