Feb 28, 2022Shadow Warrior 3 is an unbridled good time with great fights and even greater one-liners. Add in some character and weapon upgrades with a great store and that is a recipe for success in my book. With the exception of the controller issues everything else in this game comes highly recommended by myself.

Feb 28, 2022Shadow Warrior 3 has one goal in mind, providing players with an enjoyable and intense experience of slashing and shooting through hordes of enemies. Admittedly, the scope does become a bit too narrow-minded at times, as you sacrifice the potential for solid storytelling, pacing, and novelty. Nevertheless, I can’t deny just how fun it was to brutalize the waves of monsters and become the biggest dick I could ever be.

Mar 31, 2022Shadow Warrior 3 is like a bloody amusement park as it is fast, thrilling, but extremely short. You can finish the game anywhere between 8-10 hours on higher difficulties.

Feb 28, 2022Shadow Warrior 3 strips away much of the extra fluff from its predecessor for a short, straightforward thrill ride packed with violence. Its humor doesn't always land and the narrative can be slipshod but the gameplay is very fun and backed by solid level design. Just don't be too surprised at the overall campaign length.

Apr 11, 2022The game lacks a bit of depth in almost everything it tries to do, but it's still a ton of fun and a good game to try if you fancy the "Boomer Shooter" games genre. Lo Wang and Shadow Warrior's third installment could've been a bit more polished, but it's still a fun experience.

Mar 7, 2022Additionally, while I really did enjoy the game, and had a ton of fun learning the combat rhythm and mechanics, I will probably never go back for a second playthrough. As I mentioned earlier, the game is full of the lowest type of humor imaginable, and by the end of the game, the same batch of one-liners that had me chuckling during the opening hours was starting to grate. That, coupled with the singular playstyle and set of upgrades, make for a poor reason to start a second playthrough. While launching at only $50, coming in competing with some of the finest video games of this (or any generation), make it hard to justify an early purchase.

Feb 28, 2022That’s the problem with Shadow Warrior 3. For all it’s hay about subversiveness and whacked out combat, there was never a moment during its campaign where I didn’t know exactly what to do, the basic shape of what was to come, and the exact way I’d solve those problems once I got there. The game has a linear, flat trajectory all the way through – and its inability to truly bring its own world to life is a key failure in what could have been a far more charming, interesting experience.
