Minimal variations in enemies, musical tracks, or backgrounds suggests that the first episode was not so much an indication of what the series can be, but rather a work in progress.
It's the poor man's "Diablo."
The idea is a good one; it's just too bad it was applied to what is essentially a mediocre clone of an aging product.
You might have trouble appreciating Shadowflare's gameplay nuances, because the game's sound isn't too great and its visuals are absolutely primitive.
Because of its brevity, it doesn't come close to justifying the $15 price tag.
If you want carpal tunnel syndrome, there are far more entertaining ways to contract it. [Feb 2003, p.80]
