Very nice story, you can see that it's not there-is-a-bad-strong-guy-grow-stronger-kill-him-and-get-the-princess storyline. Also there are very few skills and items. For items I mind that there are almost no alternate places where to get them then default sellers and for skills.. well, let's put it the way that some are just so way better than others. I also did not enjoy short play time (I completed it on hard difficulty in approx. 18-22 hours). All in all - very nice graphics and story, but I feel sorry for wasted potential. Expand

Pleasant game, with slightly above average story, no real decisions though. Combat sucks as before (shamans are so useless..) but it gets you through the game as a whole.

They stick you with a HORRIBLE team that you can barely customize. Later, you can hire some crap people, but there's no offensive mage and the rigger has ONE bot.

Also, there's all these 4-5 digit codes that aren't entered automatically, so you have to exit the terminal, go into your quest log, find the code, remember it, close the quest log, go back to the terminal, and put the code

Finally, the same annoyances exist that were in Shadowrun Returns, with the clicking not registering on people half the time.

The game is not bad. Unfortunately the game is also not a memorable experience. It's just an above-mediocre old-school turn based story-driven game with some RPG elements.

The most important things about those games are: 1. How is the story ? Mediocre at best. Some different endings. Good dialogs. Some philosophical ideas thrown in there. Nothing spectacular. 2. How is the combat

    Conclusion:
    - Buy the game if you see it at discount, play it, and go to something else.

A great little game but a bit light in many ways. Godawful system but a great setting saves it somewhat. The community content, however, saves this game. The guy that creates Shadowrun Unlimited should get a medal for all his hard work. Without that mod this game would've been next to nothing.

A solid game that was released 10 year too late. How intoxicated would you honestly need to be to play something like this over the new Witcher or Dragon Age?

Interesting story, characters and locations, let down by a total lack of voice acting and very light combat, think budget XCOM. Overall though I enjoyed it quite a bit and will definitely be playing Hong Kong next.

An improvement on Shadowrun Returns, Dragonfall fixes a number of small technical issues ; for example, this time around, the turn-based movement stops as soon as all enemies are defeated. Other flaws are unchanged, on the other hand, like the weak inventory system.

Engaging, colourful characters are there, only more of them with more to them. In fact, there is more of everything in general : more quests (mostly optional,) more lore, more background life, a dog pet (bound to be a fan favourite,) more dialog options, and several skills are more useful.

At the end of the day however, it's the missions that improved most, in both quality and flavor. Some of these missions are really enjoyable, lively and memorable.

I am conflicted. This game offers interesting story, complex characters, very original world and challenging tactical RPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate (which I love). On the other hand, I am often frustrated by the game's mechanics.

For example, why is it impossible to exchange items between party members? Why can't I enter turn-based mode at will? (To position and buff my team before starting the fight) Why can't I level up other team members the same way as the main character? (Instead of having the game do it for me) And so on. Every half-decent RPG I played, from Baldur's Gate to Dragon Age: Origins, has all of those features.

Also, I've encountered a number of bizzare issues affecting progress. For example, in the Loose Ends (medical facility raid), you're invited to lock out reinforcements, but doing so means the battle never ends (because enemy is detected behind the locked door) and it's impossible to progress in the mission. Or there is a switch which should be clickable but isn't. And so on.

There. I enjoyed Dragonfall A LOT at times, but at other times it's an exercise in frustration. So much that I decided to stop.

Has all the ingredients to make for a great game but needs about 2-3 extra layers of polish. Even though the combat is rather disappointing, it did manage to draw me in and be a bit addictive. It depends on the mood I guess.

I fondly remember the bad ending as an awesome thing I missed (since I wanted to pass the speech checks, and wasn't very familiar with the lore, or paying attention to the cryptic hints of Absinthe), but on second playthrough it seemed cartoonish and abrupt. But was I glad I brought my loyal dog along :)

I loved Returns and the one starts off with a bang, and has one of my favorite video game characters [Eiger]. The quests start to loose focus and feel forgettable, even when the writing of them is good, because it just won't have a strong enough connection to the story. Then I hit a brick wall of a difficulty spike mission.

The first one felt more real, and had a better flow overall. I warn against the people who tell you to skip Shadowrun Returns, I think it is a good deal better than this one.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall has excellent writing which supports the whole shebang beautifully, but its sub-par tactical gameplay holds it back once the bullets and blades start flying.

If you’re new to Shadowrun Returns, skip the initial release and start with Dragonfall Director’s Cut. Nearly every aspect of the Dragonfall campaign is superior to Dead Man’s Switch, and there’s far more to be excited about than afraid of.

A world that demands your attention, Shadowrun endures long after the finale.
