Pretty average all things considered but given what we received over two decades ago, that has to be considered somewhat of a success...Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn takes the beat ‘em up format and runs with it in the same way any game has over the last 30 or so years. It has moments where it’s relatively fun, but you’ll need to be a hardened fan to get the most out of it.
This game is better than its predecessor, but that does not mean it is great. It's short, the story mode is minimal and the fighting system is way too simplistic to be enjoyable.

This game is very fun to play. Most of the people that are complaining don’t like the old school side scrolling beat em up games. Any one who grew up playing these games as a child will love this game. Definitely one of my favorite games.

Shaq Fu: A legend Reborn is the direct sequel of the fighting game released in 1994 on Mega Drive and SNES. The gameplay is very different from the prequel because it shifts towards side-scrolling 3D beat’em up pattern, but despite these changes it really fails to impress, due to dull and repetitive mechanics and a total lack of depth. The only good thing is Shaq’s humorous voice-acting, but it simply cannot be enough to make this game worth buying.
A poorly written game with gameplay that feels stiff and archaic, along with endless waves of enemies that take far too long to beat.
I can’t recommend Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn - it’s a joke that fizzles out quickly, and leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a cautionary tale. Jokes are not funny just because you say them. Nor are they funny just because they raised over $450K. But being not funny isn’t a cardinal offense for a video game. Being dull and soulless mechanically is.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a misfire in just about every way. The gameplay is dull and simplistic, the art and sound design are low quality, and the story is not only unfunny, but also surprisingly offensive. In other words, it's exactly what you would expect a Shaq Fu sequel to be like.
For a 20$ title how could you not put this at a 10. I mean yes the story is roughly 3 or 4 hours and it doesnt have much reply ability after the 2nd or perhaps 3rd time. But for 20$ your getting a game that (for me) didn't bug out, made me laugh countless times, had a pretty decent story and was still difficult at times but still just a blast. I don't know what people expect out of these games but for me at 20$ this is perfect

Shaq Fu is an average game. Average Beat-Em Up. Average Story. The gameplay itself isn't bad, it does change throughout the game and doesn't get stale. , I did enjoy the graphics and I did find the level design to be unique from stage to stage and liked to variety. and the jokes actually made me laugh out loud a few times. Hearing Shaq voice Shaq was a plus too. I enjoyed my time with this game and do not regret playing it!

This game would be an excellent arcade cabinet. It plays as a wonderful Beat-em-up. The controls are fairly decent for the game but the vertical movement is a little fidgety and there aren't any vertical attacks. For $20, is a decent story with fair replay value. The biggest drawback is how there isn't a versus mode like in the original. Once it includes the versus mode, I'll say that it's worth $30(cost of physical). The game has some bugs that need to be fixed but I was able to complete the storyline despite the game freezing a couple times while fighting Diamond.
The trophies are easily achievable with a second playthrough. The commentary is hilarious and the product placement for icy hot is perfect. I do wish that there could be more weapons included, especially in areas where the fights are more difficult.

The only positive thing I have to say about this game is that the animated cutscenes, the music, and the humor are well done. The gameplay itself is unfun, unsatisfying, boring, repetitive, and frustrating. It's like they analyzed what made classic beat 'em ups fun and made the complete opposite. Also, there is a random bug that freezes everyone in their place and forces you to restart the checkpoint. They released a DLC that can only be bought by people with the physical disc. So, if you bought it digitally like me and you want to give them money in exchange for their DLC, "Tough luck. Buy the physical version or get lost, buddy". No, sorry. Awful job.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is not only a bad game, but a clear reminder that not every game needs a sequel. We didn’t need a new Bubsy and we certainly don’t need a new Shaq Fu. The combat is constantly draining, the humour is poorly delivered and occasionally insulting to your intelligence, and the six stages do nothing to incite any kind of replay ability whatsoever.
