This new adventure game from Wadjet Eye is a small, retro-looking gem. Not so difficult to play (especially if you're a fan of the genre), it tells a great, captivating and deep story, set in a dramatic dystopia, that will stay in your heart for a long, long time.

Shardlight is another excellent point-and-click adventure game from the small but fiercely dedicated and skilled bunch at Wadjet Eye Games.

It's really a pleasant surprise: a game that will keep you busy with interesting challenges, and delivers some memorable storytelling.

It’s not all perfect — some of the dialogue is a little clunky and not all of the puzzles are super exciting — but it’s a solid game that explores some new ground.

I expect more from Wadjet Eye, because they understand what made classic point’n’clicks great and their every game was a diamond that would rival Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword in the 90s. In comparison Shardlight is... well... just a good game, a diamond in the rough. [05/2016, p.54]

A lack of originality and some storytelling flaws hurt it a little, but the end result still has enough visual flair and enjoyable bits of narrative to easily earn a recommendation.

The game's twist comes at great expense, because it leaves nothing else for players to discover in the nuance-less second act.

Second of all - Shardlight is definietly worth buying and is a terrific adventure game. The setup itself, considering it's a post-apocalyptic theme - speaks for itself for those who like that kind of thing (like i do).

The story is good. Not great however like in Primordia or Gemini Rue. The music also did not stun me (it's ok, not great like in Gemini Rue for that matter).

Nevertheless, while I was somewhat dissapointed with Technobabylon which at some point bored me and I have never finished it - this one kept me engaged until the very end. The ending may be perceived as a little naive but besides that you should not be dissapointed with the overall quality of the game.

It is definietly worth checking out.

    My score is 8/10.

Though the game may have been a little too easy and the story overall was lacking, the premises and setting were interesting enough to keep me entertained for 8 hours of gameplay. Pretty recommendable. Expand
