What makes Showgunners so addicting is that its combat is tight, responsive, fair, and accessible. The options available to players during combat and exploration are just enough to feel varied without feeling overly complicated; though the combat U.I. can get cluttered at times. This is the perfect game for players that are new to this genre or for veterans looking for a more casual experience that still provides enough of a challenge to stay interesting.

A tight, turn-based take on classic 80s cinema, Showgunners is a bite-sized blast that is sure to appeal to fans of Xcom. It doesn't reinvent the wheel in any way, but it does nail both the core gameplay loop and the aesthetic and you can't ask for much more than that

Although it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, Showgunners adds its own twist on the formula, and I think it works pretty well. If you’re an XCOM fan, this is a no-brainer.

Although it has a great atmosphere, Showgunners doesn’t cultivate the pathos that it’s capable of. As such, you’ll find pulpy motivations for the polished turn-based strategy, which positions the title in the secondary tier of XCOM-type titles. Tactics fans could do worse.

An interesting turn-based tactical game that doesn't innovate but is an honest proposition for fans of the genre.
  6. Showgunners doesn’t let a clutter of subsystems distract it from its main focus, which is to deliver a series of intense and varied turn-based battles in an atmosphere that neatly fits the genre – it’s not revolutionary and you won’t find yourself replaying the game again and again. Those looking for exactly that, however – a well-defined and very competent experience – will get their money’s worth.

Quick and dirty, Showgunners is a turn-based strategy for people with short attention spans and a need for instant gratification. Shrinking the experience down robs you of the majesty of something like XCOM’s strategic brilliance, but you won’t regret the time you spend here.

Characters have fun abilities and actually many of them! Lack of abilities and mostly just shooting was my biggest worry going in to a tactical shooter, but i was worried for nothing. There are a lot of abilities! Melee kill chain setups with Scarlett once you unlock enough perks are so satisfying! Itemization, character progression, sponsorship bonuses, new characters as i progressed, it never got stale or boring. Highly recommend to anyone that likes turn based games (even if you thought you'd never enjoy a shooter tactical game). Expand

If You like Gears Tactics, Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle, and other simple turn-based not overly complicated games, this one is for You. I'm 40yo, I don't have much time and I tried some of the older AAA titles, but they all require at least a day or two just for getting into a game, have tons of texts and interaction. I'm a simple man, I need simpler games, like they used to be in late 90's and early 00's, not like nowadays, when everything has to have TONS of content, super hyper large open world, etc.

I don't need that, I need entertainment, no hyper depth required.
