  • Summary: SimCoaster dismisses the elegant design of its predecessor, and instead favors the often-overwhelming amount of management found in the original Theme Park.

  1. Daily Radar
Strangely enough, beneath all of the executive screaming and the terrible main interface beats the heart of a brilliant game.

If you're hoping for the detail-oriented world of "Roller Coaster Tycoon's" paint customizing schemes, park customer feedback, and realistic physics, you're not going to get it. But what you lose in realism you'll gain in charm and fun.
  3. Da Gameboyz
It boasts some very intelligent design concepts and the game was definitely well tested before it hit the stores. SC has an excellent replay value and anyone that likes theme park games should go out and buy it. It's well worth it.
  4. Ridiculously long load times. Even with added structure, gameplay eventually goes stale.
  5. It's a fun diversion and an enjoyable game in its own right, but ultimately the emphasis on objectives and challenges grows a bit annoying.
  6. A significant improvement over "SimTheme Park," but yet with its schizophrenic emphasis on financial management and zany fun it still presents a less coherent and integrated experience than "RollerCoaster Tycoon." ... Nonetheless, I really do enjoy SimCoaster a lot.
  7. The final problem, though, is the game's absurdly easy nature. It takes no time at all to expand your park to crazy dimensions, and most of the challenges are quickly dispensed with.
