    Welcome to Italy, 1943.

Set in the aftermath of its award-winning predecessor, Sniper Elite 4 continues the series World War Two heritage by transporting players across the beautiful Italian peninsula, from sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi mega structures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino.

Covert agent and elite marksman Karl Fairburne must fight alongside the brave men and women of the Italian Resistance to help free their country from the yoke of Fascism, and defeat a terrifying new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe before its even begun.

If his mission fails, there will be no Operation Overlord, no D-Day landings, and no Victory in Europe.

With gameplay that can shock, amuse and satisfy in the same slowed heartbeat, Sniper Elite 4 is the best game in the series. While it graphics, story and characters can feel a little flat, the gameplay has always been the focus, and is so perfectly tuned to make the rest seem inconsequential.

Sniper Elite 4 is one of those games that has something for everyone. Being a borderline recluse, I was attracted to the idea of playing as a lone wolf, but the multiplayer co-op Overwatch game was even better!

A hearty improvement on Sniper Elite 3 that embraces freeform play, gets better in co-op, and most importantly lets us shoot things from very far away.

Its stealth and action mechanics may be simplistic, but they're functional and regularly enjoyable. And the maps--with their impressive scale, open-ended objectives, and clever level design--coalesce these disparate systems into a creative and fulfilling whole. There are still some issues with AI inconsistency, a bland story, and some dull competitive multiplayer, but it finally feels like this series is living up to its long-standing potential.

Sniper Elite 4 is a very safe sequel - it doesn't introduce revolutionary changes but expands and improves on the things that are well known. If something isn't broken don't fix it - that's a good approach. At the same time this game quite often looks like a copy of its predecessor - the same issues are mixed with some cool improvements. All in all, fans should be really happy.

With the fourth entry of Sniper Elite, a franchise built on delivering on that feeling, developer Rebellion has created a well-rounded and empowering sandbox shooter.

It really is testament to the gruesome enjoyability of those hyper gory killcams that, even after four games, the sniping continues to be satisfying enough to warrant a look in. Sniper Elite 4 doesn’t miss its target, then, but it plays things safe enough to guarantee the kill without any undue risks.

People are complaining about the "Lack of story". Yeah, their is a basic tale and some characters look like they snook in from sniper elite 2 but Sniper elite 4 is not about story its about killing a nazi batallion before they know what hit them. I would highly recommend a pure stealth authentic difficulty playthrough as the reward is great kinda like soulsborne games. All in all sniper elite 4 is a great showcase of stealth in its purist form like hitman great fun and worth a buy. If you like any stealth games. Expand

Of course, the graphics is not the main thing in the game, but I still want to mention that in this game it is on the very high level and beautiful. All visual work of the game is made good. And has a great sound work.
But the plot itself and how it is presented are made well too. In any case, whether this game is historical or not, I liked to go through its missions, playing as a single sniper in different corners of the military operations of that time.

Sniper Elite 4 is simply a very, very good third person shooter, on which I spend a lot of time with great pleasure. Compared to other TPS,Sniper Elite 4 is simply a very, very good third person shooter, on which I spend a lot of time with great pleasure. Compared to other TPS, the game's arguments are:
    - the killcam. It is a great idea to make you feel (and enjoy sadistically) each and every sniper shot. I can't think of a better way to feel the impact of a bullet.
    - an excellent level design, with huge maps offering wonderful landscapes but also a LOT of different possibilites to advance through the levels and complete the objectives.
    - speaking of possibilities, there is almost always the choice to be sneaky or loud.
    - the difficulty modes authentic and authentic plus, that wipe most of the game interface and challenge you to go through the levels with the same level of information a "real" sniper has: no information about enemy status, no expected bullet impact point. You have to know your weapon.

If I should give negative points there would be two small ones:
    - the levels are so big that it is a nightmare for completists to find all documents and all eagles. After 37 hours, I'm just halfway through the game because I've spent my time running after these...
    - the objectives are a little bit stereotyped: kill Mr X, destroy armory Y, find information Z... Nothing really annoying but don't expect to have to do exotic things ever.

Very good and enjoyable shooter, highly recommended.

Sniper Elite 4 feels much more streamlined than 3 - but i cannot really pin it down. Maybe it is because it is larger and does not feel as tunneled as 3 (although 3 was not too restrictive either)

What begins very good though - reveals some flaws a little later (for me - about after mission 4). I started to realize that the game suffers GREATLY from a VERY predictable AI. Even on the HIGHEST AI setting - the enemies tend to act utterly suicidal and do not pose a serious threat to the sniper - unless they come in very large groups.
Things change a little later - when the enemy starts to appear in more difficult classes - but especially the enemy snipers with their "hard to miss" scope glare (not to mention the alarm siren when they focus on you) are made a "little" too easy.
All in all - the enemy does not seem to work well as a team, runs around in an erratic manner and easily gets shot down one by one.

I cannot comment on how accurate the rifle physics are - i can only presume they are alright - although ironically - i do not use the rifle much at all. - i use it to "pull" a group, get to a chokepoint and kill the enemy behind corners with the sidearm or melee.

In terms of performance - it runs great on lowest specs.
