There were enough elements to believe this could have been a great sci/fi-horror game, but in the end the gameplay doesn't deliver.
Yet another game with great ideas and a not-so-great execution. If you’re looking for a stealth-based horror experience it’s an option, but definitely not the best one out there.

At times the atmosphere is quite well realised, like the 'Aliens' inspired outpost with torrential rain fall or searching a derelict space craft in a swampy marsh region. If you can accept a game that does not have AAA values, you may find Solarix a strangely compelling proposition. Since the game first came out there has been several updates, so if there was ever a good time to try Solarix, now is it

Solarix’s admirable goal to marry the mechanics of Thief to the setting and plot of System Shock 2 proves to be beyond the game’s capabilities. The intentions are exemplary, but the execution is marred by eccentric AI, bugs, and an unfortunate attachment to checkpoints.
The developer’s heart is in the right place, but Solarix just isn’t very good.

Solarix could bow to the old sci-fi gaming with dignity, but due to the botched artificial intelligence, confusing level design and half-baked ideas it turned into its caricature.
The makers of Solarix wanted to follow in the footsteps of System Shock 2 and Dead Space, but the result is just awful.
horror theme games had a tough spot this year, this one is no exeption the whole game feels like it's tryining to imitate other games and fails to do so and the scares and voises are pathetic, to say the least

Ugh. Just awful. If you only look at Steam, you might get the idea that this game is the second coming of System Shock 2; nothing could be further from the truth. Abysmal AI, horrible level design, lots of bugs (at least one of which stops the game dead in its tracks), goofy monologues from characters that make no sense half the time, and generally primitive gameplay which pretty much ignores all the great features other developers have come up with over the last decade or more (this game plays like it was made in the 90s, and not in a good way.)
