  • Summary: Command the Trolls and lead them on an epic journey across the wild continent of Urgath. As Chieftain of the Moonkin, a tribe driven from its home by tusk hunters and disease, their survival is in your hands.

SpellForce 3: Fallen God provides players with more SF3 goodness. The story, told from an unusual perspective, shows you a gripping tale of a dwindling tribe trying to survive as opposed to previous instances of Saving The World.

The second standalone addon is also extensive, the trolls fit well into the world - but are a bit tough to play.

A competent entry in the Spellforce universe. Fallen God offers a new race and treats it with respect, allowing a player to involve himself or herself in their culture and world.

Fallen God is a large stand-alone expansion that succeeds in differentiating itself from its predecessors. The developers managed to diversify the experience (not spectacularly though) and did a terrific job at depicting the specific nature of the new race – trolls. [13/2020, p.72]

SpellForce 3: Fallen God is an old style expansion, with lot of hours of gameplay equally divided between RPG and RTS, but if you don't like the mixture of genres, this DLC will not change your mind.

Fallen God is a good and lenghty standalone expansion to Spellforce 3, but it does not have the same impact as Soul Harvest did. The new troll faction is somewhat of a mixed bag, the dialogues drag out too much and the rts elements can feel a little undercooked. But Spellforce has always been more than the sum of its parts and if you loved the two previous games in the series, there is a good chance you will love Fallen God as well.

I had a feeling that II think that this game is a big step forward in SPELLFORCE 3 franchise. New mechanics, ideas, and an incredible story. I had a feeling that I played in something more than an RTS. If you like RTS and an exciting journey, this is a must-have game.
    Side notes:
As a minimum, I think that this game deserves a nomination at Game Awards, which is a shame that it had not.

Within minutes I was into the story of the characters and was excited to see more. It even got me more involved than the the main and Soul Harvest entry and I am really hoping it is not the final entry of the 3 series. You can see that the developers listen to fan feedback and I am excited to see more of the franchise. Expand

It is clearly seen that with each addition, developers improve their skills. And I'm also very good at the idea of releasing such massive add-ons - in fact, entire campaigns.
Unfortunately, on this site it is customary to bet either 0 or 10. In reality, this game is a solid 7 out of 10. But, since only 8 people tended to praise it here, and one clever guy slapped zero ... I'll slap 9.

This is what was missing in the original SpellForce 3.
Firstly an interesting story and fantasy. The second is a reference to the SpellForce 1 and the trolls are similar in some places to the original SpellForce. Cool 3d start menu with with the trolls leader. RPG part got better, added crafting ( not super, but interesting), more skills, you can get confused. I will not talk about the graphics and design, everything is clear. Trolls just look bigger than other races, I have already spoken about the fact that it is impossible to see the details of units through their small size ( they got lost in such colorful graphics) - but the trolls are not in danger.
Interestingly thought up with the recruitment of troops and training - this is what fans talked about, ( a different gameplay mechanics than in other races). Dialogues have become more interesting. Your decisions affect the plot. An interesting thing with training a young troll ( education throughout the game).
Definitely good work, you can get stuck for a long time in such game.

    - The one big mistake that developers made was that they did not release 6 races at once in main game, it spoil the reputation of SpellForce Franchise. Also was some imperfections which everyone knows. Oh, It was possible to release a full-fledged game with all these features from Soul Harvest and Fallen Good, but...

    I bet 8.
For higher ratings, there is a lack of a more thoughtful RPG. All the same, this is a cut-down version ( banal skill tree from top to bottom, not enough statistics, not enough different types of equipments and other pretty well-known RPG functions) . And of course there is not enough 3D first person camera view in dialogues, as if you are torn off from the game world, - this is in comparison with SF1.
I do not have any big questions about the RTS part in such view, maybe the economy must be the little bit different ( gathering food - not only a hunting hut) - again looking at SF1.
And my opinion or or logical conclusion, - in view of today's technology, something more ambitious could be done.

Well, everything should improve in this world starting from people ending with games. I hope that someday I will hear about the true SpellFoce next generation game. Rune...

A huge disappointment compared to spellforce 1 and 2.

It's a shame they couldn't simply copy the old games, and chose instead to make a broken version of dawn of war.

Why can't these devs have their own ideas and chose instead to steal ideas from others? Even the trolls expansion is a blatant copy from battle realms.
