  • Summary: Assume control of large all-terrain Soviet vehicles and venture across the rugged landscapes with just a map and compass to direct you. Explore the levels and unlock portions of the map whilst discovering new trucks, fueling stations, garages and lumber mills.

It’s not survival horror with trucks. It’s survival horror for trucks. You as a driver, as a person, as a foot on a gas pedal and a pair of hands, don’t exist. Whether it’s because Oovee didn’t want to fuss with character models or because it’s an intentional effort to focus on the element of machines vs nature without mere humanity in the middle to muck it all up, the world of Spintires is like Maximum Overdrive, that dopey horror movie where trucks come alive and drive themselves around. Not for the cheese factor, of course.

Spintires is a very good game. It's hard to imagine a better truck driving model - game engine paired with Havok covers up any issues the game might have (and it has some minor ones). Spintires is a game with an original theme and a great example of a simple, but extremely playable product. Great job.

Without a doubt Spintires is the best trucking game I've ever played. When muddy physics are combined with crappy vehicles, the outcome is truly unique. Spintires is a survival game, where you have to make do with big cars in a soft terrain. [Aug 2014]

Great mud-parcours for fans of enormous green diesel monsters - needs a bit more "game" though.

I have never grown fond of cars because almost nothing resembles being a car while standing next to Mercury Park Lane from the '59. And to drive Mercury Park Lane from the '59 in the 21st century is not exactly the most practical thing to do with your savings. However, I keep remembering our family Wartburg – a blue station wagon which clawed us through Podkrkonoší or Jeseníky, and that rusty beast did beat everything, weathered from fir branches and mudded from forest roads around Rejvíz. Why so many words? Because it is a must to enjoy the Spintires.

Spintires is a simulation game in which you drive through Russia with different off-road vehicles. The in-game physics are a blast and are very realistic, but overall Spintires can be kind of boring to some players. You only have one objective to complete, and all the maps look alike. Still, if you just enjoy riding through dirt, this is the game for you.

There are quite a few positive aspects: the driving physics feel authentic, the real-time deformation of the surroundings is impressive too. But Spintires lacks depth, be it more varied missions or even the smallest economy system. This is more a tech demo than a game.

The game is relatively bug-free and is regularly being updated so most bugs you come across will be fixed within a month or so. You may ask why should I buy this instead of Mudrunner or Snowrunner? Well for one it is cheaper then both games so if you end up not enjoying slowly crawling through mud it is less of a loss. This is also being regularly being updated with bug fixes whereas Mudrunner has been abandoned. Mudrunner is also pretty much a carbon copy of 2017 Spintires so it is quite buggy and won't have the new and improved mud physics. Snowrunner is also only available on the Epic games store and is incredibly buggy Expand

It's simple AMAZING!!! I love this game! it's really hard to play, but it 's very rewarding.

Positive: Terrain deformation, Tire pressure simulation, Realistic water behaviour, Driving physics in general, Maps are pretty big, and full of challenging terrain, You can mow down trees, Multiplayer, Vehicles of all sizes, ranging from the small UAZ (Jeep) to the monstrous 8x8 Maz., Winching is fun and very useful, You can attach it to both other vehicles and trees, Attaching a crane to your truck, to pick up lumber, move rocks out of the way and sometimes to help push the truck up, The game is well optimized. Runs on max at a steady 60 fps on a GTX 670 @ 1080p, with 50% power to spare, Trucks take damage, and consume fuel. You can install a utility addon for mobile repairs, or a fuel cistern for re-fueling in the field.

It's awesome. It's like Dark Souls for driving fans. You have to be carefull, think about your steps and be carefull.

    Pro:
Physics, Graphics, Immersion. It feels really great. The maps are nicely made too and offer huge challenges, especially in hardcore mode.

    Con:
Camera sucks, but you can get it work well with the d-pad of the 360 gamepad.
Just woods. A sand-map would have been great.
A map editor or random generated maps would be nice too.
Saving several maps would be nice.

But it's so fun to play!
