Much like what Arkham Asylum did for Batman games, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sets the new standard for Star Wars titles. Not only is it a great Star Wars game, it is also the best game of the year.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order captured the magic of growing as a Jedi, overcoming insurmountable odds through fellowship, and the power of hope in the midst of despair. If Respawn’s delivery of Jedi: Fallen Order is the future of the Star Wars franchise out of EA, the franchise is in incredible hands. The Force is strong with these ones.

Being an EA game, albeit developed by Respawn Entertainment, I had some doubts, but they were quickly dispelled. It stands as proof that single-player games can stand on their own. The only problem is that if you rush through it, you could finish Fallen Order in about 12 hours, but that excludes finding the secrets and unlocking all the cool stuff. Lastly, I have to mention the name, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. To me, it sounds like Star Wars Jedi could be a new line of games, with Fallen Order being just the first one. We can only dream.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the Star Wars game that fans have been crying out for years now. While it doesn't do anything new, its clear inspirations from Dark Souls and Tomb Raider have helped to create an epic, sprawling adventure that'll have you ready for more the moments the credits roll. If only there had been more of it, because once I started, I didn't want to stop.

An excellent entry into the new Star Wars canon.

Respawn did nothing to reinvent the wheel, but instead married a bunch of popular gameplay genres together into a cohesive whole, wrapped up in well-crafted Star Wars story. It may not be KOTOR levels of greatness, but it's good. And I think that's exactly what fans needed right about now.

As underwhelmed as I was by Fallen Order, I hope that its inevitable success will encourage EA to do more with this franchise, since it makes a powerful case for the resonance of Star Wars — if this mediocre casserole of concepts yanked from superior titles didn’t have the license attached, I doubt anyone would be talking about it.

Very well done, totally worth the time. Respawn got it right, and finally EA respected the process. Cant wait to finish it.

Is this the best Star Wars game ever made? Maybe.
In some ways, this is the highest quality Star Wars game ever made. Head to head with KOTOR and KOTOR 2 as my favorites of all time.

The game has very - VERY - interesting characters. Sadly, the plot is simple, so I can't much compare it to KOTOR story-wise. I wish they expanded the game more, I feel like there's so much more to be told. Imagine a Cantina scene, a Tatooine-like planet or Tatooine itself. Imagine tempting Cal to the dark side. There's so much grounds to cover with this great cast. It's a shame that this game and it's sequels (if ever) will never be able to tell as wide a variety of stories as KOTOR due to the emphasis on high-quality cinematic action.

But Jedi Fallen Order ticks all the right boxes to satisfy a fan of KOTOR, Jedi Outcast/Academy, The Prequels and the Originals. Awesome characters like KOTOR. Awesome combat like Jedi Outcast. Awesome Star Wars soundtrack and feel like the movies.

Customizing my lightsaber is fun, and I've done the Savi's Workshop in Anaheim's Disneyland Galaxy's Edge, so it's feels like a continuation for me.

When I thought the game was done introducing game changing mechanics, it threw more at me. I tried to keep myself as spoiler free as possible, but there are way too many spoilers on Youtube thumbnails at the moment. That being said, the game still surprised me with new force powers, new bosses and cinematics that weren't in any promotional material.

My game of the year for 2019 hands down.

24 Hours in, finished the story, completion around 95%. Incredible, the ending was satisfying and not predictable for me. I was expecting to be slightly disappointed, but it ended a blast! Kudos to Respawn Entertainment. Probably the best 24 hours game I've ever played. Definitely the most cinematic and action packed 24 hours.
