    Team Sonic Racing was a welcomed surprise. The latest title in the line of Sonic racing games shows evolution. And with Team Sonic Racing, it proves that the series only continues to get better with each iteration.

    Team Sonic racing is a solid fun racer with some one of a kind gameplay with its team mechanics. But better don’t compare the game to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As long as you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, Team Sonic Racing is clearly one of the best fun racer games out there. But it lacks in diverse racing tracks and the audio isn’t the nicest.

    A visually stunning and entertaining way to pass the time. As far as arcade racers go, this is definitely a solid one, though it isn’t entirely without flaws.

    It’s mario kart... but better!!! If you don’t own a switch this is a GREAT replacement for boring old mario kart!

    This game has good graphics, good songs, good car customization and really fun gameplay thanks to the team mechanic that makes it stand on it's own!

    It had the potential to surpass its predecessor (Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed), SEGA abandoned the title and did not include updates, to add more characters, more tracks, more vehicle modification parts. What about online? Well just for decoration, because nobody enters the lobby, even the "Transformed" game from 2012 has its online active until today.
    Team Sonic Racing is a great game, but one that SEGA left out. Obviously it is not worth the full price, buy it only on sale.
    Buy this game thinking it doesn't exist online, play it as if it were a PS2 era game down, it's a good and fun game to play with friends at home, but online, just calling your friend who also has the game.    … Expand

    Mixed:
    ~ Story is ok for a racing game and the missions are alright
    ~ The game looks decent in general but some textures look rough

    Negatives:
    - The game's been on a sale more times than it has had patches (less than half a year after release)
    - Online play was dead on arrival due to random disconnects, no mid-race joining, too many queues and no cross-play between consoles
    - It's nearly impossible to form even two full human teams (3 and 3) since local multiplayer only supports up to 4 players and the online is dead
    - Badly optimized (Intro cutscene plays at double speed, framerate drops etc.)
    - A.I. teammates suck most of the time
    - Can't play the story as Metal Sonic (I don't care if it doesn't fit the story, I just want to race as him)
    - All unlockables are behind a slot machine like system (It only uses the free in-game currency but it's just tedious to spam a button to get stuff)
    - Very little customization / unlockables
    - Lack of characters
    - Lack of levels
    - Developers abandoned the game and went radio silent since the first and only patch

    So in conclusion, don't buy this game. There's just so many things that don't work and the content is lackluster compared to the past Sonic racing games. Developers abandoned it and so should you.    … Expand

    Hasnt worked a day since I bought it on Steam. It's pretty much abandonware. DONT BUY IT!$ GET A REFUND IF YOU CAN!!

    IGPX for PS2 did team racing way better, and that is a extremely old game. So you have to ask yourself, why play this "Team Sonic Racing"IGPX for PS2 did team racing way better, and that is a extremely old game. So you have to ask yourself, why play this "Team Sonic Racing" game. When you can just play "Mario Kart 8" or/and "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed". Those 2 games are way more polished. Team Sonic Racing was also suppose to be a sequel to Transformed, but why take a step back and remove the transformation aspect? This feels like a cash grab because of the blow back from the Sonic movie.

    Just skip this and play either Mario Kart, All Star Transformed, or/and IGPX for PS2.    … Expand
