This is a Japanese role playing game that you do not see often anymore. The story is epic, the localisation makes characters into persons and everything combined makes this game a must have for JRPG lovers and gamers that appreciate a good story.

If you've played Trails FC, there's a good chance you're already waist-deep in SC, and so my review isn't going to sway you one way or another. For those who haven't yet taken the plunge, I cannot stress enough that SC is a direct sequel that takes place immediately following the ending of the first game, so I recommend beating FC first.

Trails In The Sky SC is one of the most adored JRPG, thanks to his incredibly deep story. The western conversion comes a little to late to give justice to this masterpiece: the weight of years is felt on the graphics.

Perhaps one day gamers outside Japan will be able to appreciate the full scope of this series, which takes time to develop pieces of its world in detail. Until then, at least the two Trails in the Sky games show how rewarding the series can be, and the upcoming Cold Steel shows that more is on the way for non-Japanese speakers.

Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter is a perfect sequel to the first entry. It offers some subtle improvements, while also keeping the focus on what Legends of Heroes does best; that narrative. It's traditional, but classy, and well worth the time it takes to play through it all.

If you're a fan of the series (or just of JRPGs in general), then The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Sky SC will offer you an engaging narrative as well as enough complex and challenging battles to tide you over till Christmas.

While I think Sky FC is already comparable to classics like FF6, 7, Chrono Trigger, Lunar: Eternal Blue... Sky SC surpasses that tier and set new heights on the genre.
What makes this series so special? Well, the quality of its writing and also the sheer depth and volume of it. For example, each town NPC is handcrafted and their dialogues change as the story goes on, which makes the world feel alive. Many of them have their own story arcs or running gags that will make you want to talk to them for what they will say instead of purely for completionist purposes. Now, if they bother to give this much attention to random NPCs, you can expect an unprecedented level of detail for the main cast and story that puts even visual novels to shame.

I strongly suggest playing through FC before this, otherwise you will be kind of lost in the story.

WE NEED THE FULL TRILOGY! I waited 2 years to play SC and I really wish that someday I don't remember a thing about this game, so I could experience the game anew.

Combat system is standard turn-based affair set in a grid. Best part about combat is absolutely 0 grinding is needed. Don’t want to fight field enemy? You get 100% escape chance. Level scaling makes it so you get more exp the high the level difference there is between your party and the enemy.
You have to play Trails in the Sky FC to fully enjoy this game. But once you start on SC, it’s one hell of an emotional roller-coaster that’ll make you wish you can forget about this game just to replay again. Support this game as much as you can for more fantastic entries in the Trails series like 3rd, Zero, and Ao no Kiseki to be localized to the West.
