The Mortuary Assistant manages to capture the power of true horror with unpredictable jump scares at every turn. Constantly changing item locations and demon characteristics force you to pay attention and not get complacent. With well-timed audio and unexpected surprises, the fear factor never leaves and you have to adapt to the horrors. While controls aren’t perfect and visual graphics aren’t at their best, it’s still a horror experience worth diving into.
The Mortuary Assistant is a great game that can only be made better down the line with patches and quality of life fixes. Interruptive but brief bugs did not deter from the wondrous and horrific experience to be had. Deep, bone-chilling moments are aplenty, offering some of the biggest spooks I’ve experienced in a game ever. Narrative moments provide haunting and memorable imagery, making The Mortuary Assistant a must-play horror experience this year. So get dissecting, investigating, and hunting.

The Mortuary Assistant is one of the scariest and most well crafted horror games I’ve played in a long time. It is a genuinely frightening experience from start to finish using an undeniably creepy setting, ghastly imagery, and bone chilling sound design to build an effectively terrifying atmosphere.
A lot of the scares in the game are very subtle with you just barely catching a glimpse of a shadowy silhouette or vaguely humanoid figure staring at you out of the corner of your eye. Moreover, the game is scary on a psychological level too with there being plenty of horrifying moments that involve the protagonist’s past and family members being distorted in truly unsettling ways.
It is important to mention that the chance of many of these encounters occurring is completely random which means that the game can consistently find new ways to scare you on repeat playthroughs as you try to unlock the many different endings.
The gameplay also strikes the perfect balance of being complex enough to keep you invested and immersed in the game but not too overly complex to the point where it becomes an annoyance and distracts from the scary atmosphere.
Overall, the Mortuary Assistant is a masterful horror game in nearly every aspect. The gameplay is well polished, the story is very engrossing, and the scares will terrify you like few other games in the genre.

Brilliant horror game, great tension and jump scares. Graphics not great but not terrible and can be largely excused due to the single developer. This isn't a tripple a game and shouldn't be judged as one. It has multiple endings and each play through is usually different allghough some things can repeat.

Creepy mortician horror with believable corpse preservation and

This game does exactly what was expected. You work on preparing bodies in a funeral home, and then a bunch of odd things start going down. This game is very jump scare heavy, but I had a great time playing. Once you know exactly what you are in for, it is a great game. Is this game going to be good for 20-30 hours? Probably not, but the game is very worthwhile if you are going to be streaming or playing with friends.

The Mortuary Assistant was so scary I had to close my eyes while playing it. The game has a deliberate repetitive nature where you must embalm 3 bodies in a night while being scared **** While doing this you must figure out what the demon is based on some symbols it leaves. The game sounds extremely simple and it is, but your first time playing you will be too scared for it to seem simple. I tried to brave man the game at first just running through the apparitions, but as the game continued there were more and more surprising scares. Sure most of the games enjoyment comes from jump scares but is it really that bad. The game is incredibly short which is good but it might be a bit expensive for the length. I've never been so scared playing a game in such a short period of time and if you are looking for a scare, I recommend this game.

I really wanted to like it, but I had to return it. not only is it full of bugs, but it's totally short and repetitive. and in terms of terror it didn't scare me at all. bad jumpscares and worse graphics. definitely not worth it for 22 dollars
