The game has a heavy focus on exploration and resource gathering. There's a good levelling up mechanic. Graphics are very good, the music is good, the environment is immersive. Another plus is the absence of violence, which makes it kid friendly, and the broadly scientific approach is a learning opportunity. Multiplayer would be nice though. Expand

Excellent stunning game that is equal parts relaxing and mildly mysterious. Terraform a planet by monitoring environmental indicatorsExcellent stunning game that is equal parts relaxing and mildly mysterious. Terraform a planet by monitoring environmental indicators exclusively or explore wrecks to learn more information about how you got to the planet and what happened to other space farriers. Some work needs to be done on restricting barriers outside of resource zones or indicating what is in play in a more clear manner but given the state of recent games at release, The Planet Crafter is quite polished and runs very smooth all things considered. I'd recommend this game to just about anyone. Expand

This game is a gem out of nowhere.
Always something to do, while not becoming boring or overwhelming.
The game has plenty of fun parts, the terraforming keeps you planning for the future and provides a great endorphin hit when you make that next step.

Exploration feels like desperate scavenging at first, full of wonder and danger, becoming more relaxed and surprising as you progress the game only to find a new cave or valley.

Definitely worth the purchase, especially at the indie price point.

This game is a joke. It is for the most part, a multi-cloning of both excellent Subnautica and NoManSky.
But, few years later those games, this one is so poor. The graphics are outdated. The environment is cheap, empty, the level design is non-existent. The overall feeling is very bad. The materials you need to pick up are just randomly sprinkled with no consistency or objective. I'm sorry for those who love the game, but in my mind, it doesn't deserve at all the general rating it actually has on steam. (I don't even talk about menu or ost, I have no word for it).
