If you've been eagerly awaiting the chance to go to university, you won't be disappointed. This pack combines the very best of previous packs with some new and unique ideas that give a fully-formed and enjoyable gameplay experience - something The Sims 4 desperately needed.

Jam packed with new features that offer hours of continuous fun - if you can find them.

If you enjoy The Sims 4, this is definitely a must-have expansion pack. If you’re familiar with the franchise, you’ll recognize a lot of similar things from Sims 3 University Life. It’s a stressful and hectic expansion, but reflects a realistic college experience. Now, if only one jog could shed 50 pounds in real life….

The Sims 4 Student life is a must-have for the experienced and beginning Simmer. The package adds a realistic aspect, more gameplay options and more growth options for your sim to the game. The construction and create-a-sim items are also a nice addition to the basic game.

New additions and returning favourites make Discover University a very strong offering, despite being the eighth expansion pack for The Sims 4. It improves on previous university-themed expansions but doesn't quite achieve the lively atmosphere of other DLC packs available for a similar price. A strong recommendation for hardcore Sims fans, but not a must-buy.

At this point in the lifespan of The Sims 4, there are so many expansions and add-ons that the amount of content is a bit overwhelming, and allows the player to craft a world that is grounded in reality, full of magic and fantasy or somewhere in between. The Sims 4: Discover University is definitely weighted towards the real-world experiences and lessons of college life and in addition to being highly entertaining, might just possibly have some educational value of its own.

Discover University is a generous package with plenty to do and experience, but the biggest appeal lies in the way higher education is integrated with the rest of the game to provide further storytelling opportunities for your Sims. This expansion is another success in what has been a very strong year for the franchise, and is particularly worth considering for players who like to come to The Sims for realism narratives.

The Sims 4 Discover University involves you to play and play again with your Sims, without ever getting bored. The many elements introduced, from PHD to careers, passing through most goliardic events, are able to create a self-contained chapter in the life of our Sims, clearly satisfying the most fierce fans of the franchise. Cosmetic elements are not so many, but careers and PHD offer a proper entertainment, creating a great play experience, similar to the old expansions.

Despite these minor flaws, The Sims 4 Discover University remains a charming expansion with a surprising amount of content. It offers a wealth of things to do and a delightful simulation of college life that manages to avoid sacrificing fun for authenticity, while at the same time delivering a memorable college experience that will leave players nostalgic for their own college experience.

The robotic construction has really scared me off, because crafting combined with the constant electric shock is a nasty time eater - although the servos really have a lot of charm!

The biggest problems with The Sims 4: Discover University aren’t with the University part of the game; they’re lasting problems with The Sims 4 itself. There’s one new aspiration for Sims — getting educated — but no new traits. Right now, aspirations are the biggest thing that differentiate Sims from each other. A master actress and career criminal are going to lead two very different lives.
