Discover new ways to adventure — challenge your Sims to climb to the peak and bond with others in the world of Mt. Komorebi. From sledding and snowboarding to hot pot around the kotatsu table, there’s something to match every lifestyle.

    KEY FEATURES

Chase Your Thrills — Test your Sim’s skill and endurance with activities on the mountainside. Grab skis for a downhill ride, strap on a snowboard to shred or bundle up on a sled with another Sim. Prefer going up? Build their rock climbing skill and challenge your Sim to reach the mountain peak during daring, sometimes dangerous, excursions.

Find Your Zen — Let your Sim’s worries float away in the natural hot springs, then unwind over hot pot around the kotatsu table, or socialize while hiking through bamboo forests and snowy terrain. Bask in the serenity of mindful walks and soothing music to take control of your emotions and discover your inner zen.

Create Your Sanctuary — Whether you prefer the traditional details or modern touches of Japanese-inspired furniture and decor, you can incorporate shoji doors, windows, screens, tatami mats and more to design a home that complements your life. Take your shoes off at the genkan entryway in the soft glow of paper lanterns overhead, or build your own rock garden outside.

Define Your Lifestyle — Unlock new personality and relationship effects with the introduction of Lifestyles and Sentiments. Lifestyles manifest in response to your Sim’s actions and habits, changing their behaviors appropriately. Similarly, shared experiences inspire Sentiments and have a lasting impact on Sims’ relationships to each other, affecting their social interactions.

The wait to get the game fully stable is worth it, since this expansion is looking likely to shoot straight to the top of all the best expansions ranked lists. Snowy Escape offers more depth than pretty much any Sims 4 expansion I've ever played, and that's not just the snow.

Mt. Komorebi is a wonderful world that we cannot get enough of. Backed by a generous number of activities and features that come together in a satisfying way, it's a place that we're sure we will return to time and time again. Snowy Escape is a stellar expansion, and arguably the best since Seasons.

Apart from some lesser features, Snowy Escape introduces the Far East theme (finally!), offers a couple of often-requested new activities (e.g. snowboarding), and lets you choose lifestyles for your Sims. It might well be my favorite expansion for the game. [01/2021, p.77]

While the new traits and aspirations still read like a tutorial for the expansion, it’s clear that a lot of thought and effort went into the conception of Snowy Escape. The Sims needed to come back stronger than ever after its last controversy, and Snowy Escape did just that and more. Players’ enchantment with Mt. Komorebi is sure to stick around like the snow on the mountaintop thanks to the endless possibilities the world provides.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape could definitely use a few patches before it can be called a real Winter Wonderland. For now, players will need to pack their patience for this vacation, which features some interesting elements but too many hiccups or setbacks to let them shine through the whiteout conditions of its failings.

However , I feel the gameplay itself is lacklustre and not enough for an expansion pack. The world is a one time wonder, you may use it once or twice and then soon afterwards its forgettable. The gameplay needs more depth to it and should have more features to it as they become boring fairly quickly. Furthermore it also uses snow from seasons so basically recycling content. This would be more worthwhile if it was a Game pack. Expand

Everything just burns out far too quickly and unless you are specifically trying to create some sort of story for your sim, you won't visit mt. Komorebi twice. This expansion pack is just not worth spending 40 bucks - that's an insane price for something that short and shallow. Ten, maybe fifteen bucks would be fine, I guess. But not forty. Expand
