The White Door is their most successful entry yet, a brilliantly imaginative, unsettling puzzle adventure that increasingly weaves its way into the ongoing Rusty Lake mythos, while operating independently of everything that’s come before.

Often obtuse in its puzzle design and not that artfully told, The White Door is still effective at taking you to another place.

Even when The White Door has some boring and awkward puzzles, its dark and surreal story is worth your time playing.

Returning visitors to Rusty Lake’s particular brand of quirkiness will find The White Door to be a more focused and serious game than previous outings, while newcomers are welcome to jump right into a standalone adventure that strikes an even balance between psychologically interesting and weirdly off-putting.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "The White Door" is the game that unifies, completes and explains the story behind the majority of other "Cube Escape" games. At the beginning it has a kind of "different atmosphere" from the others, but at the it returns "more familiar" and we can see why, and I really appreciated this difference. I loved the new graphic and also the riddles are good. Kind of cute game. Expand

An excellent addition to the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape games. For those who already know the Rusty Lake universe will know that these seeminglyAn excellent addition to the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape games. For those who already know the Rusty Lake universe will know that these seemingly simple Point and Click games go far beyond that nomenclature.
Deeply eerie and haunting, each game is self contained, but there are recurring motifs characters and imagery that connects them all. In the same way you know you are watching a film by David Lynch, you will know you are playing a Rusty Lake game.
As a criticism, the puzzles in these games can be slightly illogical sometimes, but The White Door has really tightened up on this.
Writing as always is spot on, as is the use of the graphics in telling a story.
If you have never played one of these games, I don't think it really matters where you jump in, but I strongly recommend that you do.
