There are so many little and large issues that I can't recommend anyone to buy it at the moment. It's a REALLY fun game, when it works. But it's really infuriating with some of the issues that the developers failed to iron out after the closed, or open beta stages of development.

Also, f**k ubisoft. You get around 300 renown/match, and you usually don't even get any XP or Renown from matches, due to a really annoying bug, and the ops (characters) start at 500, going up in increments of 500 up to around 2500 (I think.) It takes absolutely forever to unlock all 20 ops at this rate.

Anyways, the gameplay is great. If they fixed the netcode, and the annoying little bugs, I'm sure it could be a contender for CS:GO.

R6: Siege is Ubisoft's attempt to kill two birds with one stone by reviving a previously established IP and using a fast pass ticket into the competitive e-sports industry with one title. In doing so all they have established is that they can make games that are flawed by technical faults that heavily detract from an otherwise enjoyable experience.
You assume the role as one of 33 playable operators, each with a unique and distinguished special ability, and play alongside four other players in 5v5 multiplayer attack versus defend game modes. Round are respawn-free, meaning if you die, you're out until the next round.
Multiplayer is where this game is significantly flawed, which on further inspection is a big concern considering that this game is a multiplayer game.
A reporting functionality does exist, something that is a must have for every multiplayer game, but despite this, it never seems to actually do anything. This is partially due to the consistent influx of hackers that swarm multiplayer games throughout the year, and also down to the fact that users reporting other players don't receive any form of communication on what action was eventually taken on the reported player, if any was taken at all!
The matchmaking system is inherently flawed, and new players can expect themselves to be paired up with other new players against a team full of people that should be competing for thousands of dollars in the competitive pro league.
The game is also riddled with bugs and glitches; some of which are addressed, but most of which are described as 'identified by the development team' and no more. So much so that they even skipped a whole DLC to provide a 'season long' (3 months) period of updates exclusively aimed at fixing issues, which was aptly named 'Operation Health'. Many players (including myself) will tell you that although this season fixed many bugs, for every bug that was fixed, another 10+ were introduced.
It is evident by all of these attempts that Ubisoft are trying to fix this game to a point where it would excel at being a great tactical multiplayer shooter, but seasoned game design veterans like themselves should know that simply trying is not enough to meet today's industry expectation.
As with most Ubisoft games, they try to emphasize the highly accurate and realistic visual graphics. What actually happened at launch was a terrible mess of broken lighting in nearly every inch of your screen, and textures that simply didn't live up to the expectations that Ubisoft themselves set during their E3 demo.
As time has gone on, they have got much better, and the next update promises to improve the overall graphical quality of the game, so I have no real basis to fault them on in the graphics department writing today in 2017. Had I been writing this review a year ago, we may have seen a different story being presented.
Player progression is an aspect of R6: Siege that I often find being misinterpreted by reviewers who haven't explored the game far enough to understand how player progression actually works. Ubisoft offers two versions of the game, the starter edition, and the standard edition. This pricing model allows gamers who aren't completely sold on the game to purchase a cheaper version where they don't instantly start with a large collection of operators (classes) to play with. They can then choose to unlock these operators with in-game currency, which cannot be purchased with real life money. This is a great move by Ubisoft which allows all players, independent of financial capacity, to experience all of the different operators in the game.
Gameplay mechanics are where Rainbow Six: Siege properly excels. Players can use RC drones with built in cameras to scope out areas of the map before engaging, and many operators have different traps and gadgets to apply a multitude of effects (both positive and negative) to players who happen to stumble across them, ranging from concussion mines to toxic smoke canisters. These mechanics provide a fun and unique playing experience with a map that is dynamically changing throughout the round, promoting players to think on their feet and adapt to the present situation. This plays well into the re-playability of the game; you are almost guaranteed to never have a match that plays out in a predictable scenario that you have experienced before.
Options menus are where most PC games fall very short of the mark, but R6: Siege is an exception to this. The game features a highly extensive yet immensely intuitive settings screen, and good news for some gamers, the game features out-of-the-box ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio support. The 'Ultra HD texture pack' that they offer, which is more than 20 gigabytes in size, doesn't seem to offer any form of improvement to the graphics unless you're using a fancy Dell 8K monitor, but heavily decreases the frame rate of the game, so unless you want to be the very best, you'll probably want to pass on that option.

The problems come from the community. I dont really have gamer friends so I play casual, i have never played a single ranked game. Unfortunately the game is really biased towards groups. It is really clear when you come up against a team who talk and know each other as they just destroy the other team. Which is not a bad thing in itself, but when you are in a team of randoms is is a gamble which rarely pays off. You often end up in games with some of the most obnoxious people you could expect, who abuse the vote kick because they are bored or scream and rant because you didnt do what they wanted. Despite the fact that they never talk about plans, you are just expected to do everything for them. Team kills are rife and i dont mean accidental ones when people just walk into your firing line. Expect to be killed by your own team on 3/5 matches, either for not being telepathic or just for being the first one they see.
If the game takes a minute to load, because it wont start until the whole player count are fully loaded up and ready (a good thing), then get ready to see a chat full of unnecessary and offensive nonsense.
The calibre of your random team mates goes downhill drastically when school is out, a clear difference. to the point that i wont play evenings or weekends just because it is not fun.
Ubisoft seem to take half hearted attempts to stem the toxicity but it makes no difference. For a while they were banning all over the place for toxic behaviour and the game became a nicer place for it, then they let up and its back to being unpleasant again. In my opinion they should be policing the game better in some way, it is a really high profile game and they should be making a point with it.

if you have a good group of friends then i imagine this game is awesome. The game itself is great, well supported and kept fresh and interesting. If it wasnt for the free reign of trolls and toxicity its would be an 8-9 for me, which i think is a real shame.

My biggest problem with R6S is the amount of pointless restrictions and omissions in the game.

There are no destructible light sources or thermal scopes. Even though there are cameras in the game, motion detection alarms are not an option. It's as if Ubisoft were trying to make Counter-Strike with mutually exclusive classes instead of a proper next gen squad tactical game with customizable loadouts.

While the maps are decent, they also have an element of luck to them, with some positions being easy to defend and some downright atrocious for any mode, and the position itself being random and not changeable (can't move the hostage/container/bombs). Getting the short end of the stick is never fun.

And mechanically it's not very fun either. Instead of deployables being placeable via their projected model like in many other games, R6S forces the operator to shuffle back and forth until they magically raise their hands into the 'can deploy' position. It's not realistic, it's deliberately crippled control. Of course, barbed wire, bear traps and whatnot can not be placed on stairs, no, sir. Only on flat surfaces with at least a meter of free space behind them (for the operative to stand when deploying). All the traps, even the mechanical ones, have IFF, e.g. the barbed wire doesn't slow down allies. MAGIC!

When the game works, it feels good. Yet, most of the time it just feels like "Game1 and Game2 did this so much better" and makes me wish for far more freedom in choosing loadouts and doing things.

Gameplay wise this game is great, shooting feels nice, tactical options are giving a nice touch to your usuall run and kill. Thinking is almost as important as good aim.

Unfortunatly matchmaking is a joke so at first you will be crushed by veteran players, either high level/rank or smurf accounts. This game is half made of smurf accounts. Strating from lvl 20 you may play rankeds where low ranking players will be much closer to your lvl of skill. This brings another problem as veteran players expect you to know maps etc.

Toxic comunity is middle name of this game. You gonna be yelled at, and they gonna rage on chat. Occasionally you will be kicked or teamkilled. Its normal. That said there are also nice people in this game, generally based on my experience in Europe, 25% are toxic, 10% are nice, and rest simply doesnt give a **** Playing casual means nothing, they rage all the same.
Game is also plauged by bugs. Every now and then im throwed out from mm because "The game you are trying to join is full." One day i couldnt play at all because mm wasnt working at all, so i couldnt find a match.

Netcode and hitboxes are a big flaw too, sometimes it registers hits strangly, you see that you or enemy was aiming in one place and bullets fall in another (im talking about single shoots no recoil included). Sometimes in a death cam i can see that enemy is standing not where i saw him on my screen.

Game isnt cheap at least by my standards, you buy this game and still have to unlock operatos. I bought starter edition as i dont mean a little grind. Time to unlock one basic op is around 10 hours. On standard edition it is much faster and takes up to one hour.

As for fixing this game by ubi, I simply dont believe they are able to. Developers are working slowly, which can be a good thing, but they are workign to slowly. Most of bugs i have been experiencing are in this game from begining. When i bought this game about 2 week ago i got 2 free ops instead of 6. I contacted ubi support, but they werent able to fix this. So if they cant fix missing operators i doubt they can fix netcode etc. Most of problems are persent because of using Anvil engine, known from AC series, it doesnt work in multiplayer shooter with destructable objects.

After considering all of the above i can give 5 out of 10. If all of the problems would be removed we would have 9/10 tactical shooter, sadly i doubt it will ever happen.

The way this game has been designed is awesome, I never played a FPS like this before. One bullet kill (headshot) with every weapon. Map designed to offer an infinity of possibilities with the new operators offered by Ubisoft every 3 months. The gadgets of the operators that allow you to create real strategies for attacking and defending rounds with a good team. And finally, the gunfights are uncredibles.

And then..... And then... the **** load of "NOT OKAY" things comes to punch you right in the face...

    - But what are these "Things" you're speaking of my dear rager ?
    - Oh, really bruh ? You don't know ? Here is the list :

Headshots (HS) that are not headshots, in both ways. Someone not aiming the head and doing a HS or you (or your team mates) aiming the head but not doing an HS. Two possibilities, one, the hit regulation is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit (yeah yeah, this much "i"), second, their servers can't handle this much of players at the same time. Basically, when you aim at the head, you expect your shot to do a nice and smooth headshot right ? Nununununununununu, not with Ubisoft bruh. Just watch and cry cuz there is nothing you can do.

Then comes the matchmaking. Just to be clear, I'm not speaking about the ranking system (let's not make this list too long as it is already), but the actual system that make you join a game for example. This system is incredibly buggy, it will not allow you to rejoin a ranked game after a connexion issue or even better it will make you join a ranked game after you canceled your matchmaking request. Sometimes you shall not be able to play with your friends cuz the game doesn't want you to create a squad. This system will do everything it can to f**k your sessions with your friends.

Now let's do a quick window on sync. issues. You know this time when you saw a closed door that was actually opened for the server and you died because it was opened for the enemy as well ? Nope, you don't ? Welcome to R6S.
But, do you remember this time you launched a ranked game and your game ended up crashing at round 1 ? Nope, you still don't ? Too bad, again, welcome to R6S.

Last, but not least, the community. OMFG. I thought overwatch had a toxic community. That was before my first game of Siege. You shall see people Team Killing you because you took "their" operators or because you did not do as they wanted it to be. You think it's a small issue ? Sure, no problem. Just try to play two casual games without being insulted or Team Killed.

Oh, I almost forgot, there is many, sorry, MANY hackers. I guess it's part of the game.... lol

    But to be fair...

No, just kidding, there is not such thing in R6S.

On the other end, if you can go over these "things" I'm talking about then its the greatest FPS you may ever play. Hope this can help.

This game is amazing and awfull at the same time, so I thought 5 was a good grade.

    Peace.

Way back in 1998 I bought this game called Rainbow Six at CostCo. It looked pretty cool, but when I loaded it up the first time I was blown away. The ability to plan missions and manage a team, set waypoints and go codes and rules of engagement. I was in heaven, and spent hours drawing up the perfect plan to rescue a hostage or diffuse a bomb.

I would go on to play Rogue Spear and Raven Shield and the series just got better. Then it started to go downhill, with future iterations like Lockdown lacking the depth and quality of their predecessors. So along comes Siege and on one level it not only meets but exceeds the game mechanics of previous Rainbow Six titles in a big way. But on another level it falls way short, simply because UbiSoft's emphasis is on drawing in the multiplayer crowd (i.e., young console gamers). So there is no single player campaign, you have no bots to manage, no planning phase. There is minimal support for co-op. You can't control mission parameters like the time limit, number of enemies, map, mission type, number of rounds. You simply get a random map with a random mission type for whatever your chosen difficulty is. There is also no map editor so you must make do with the official maps provided. So on the whole, the game has very little content for gamers who are interested in the core RS experience established in games like Raven Shield and Rogue Spear. Rainbow Six has always had multiplayer pvp, but the heart of the series has always been tactical cooperative mission planning and execution.

The gameplay itself is great. There are many large and well-designed maps. The graphics and animations are terrific. The shooting mechanics are fine, and the characters you can unlock have a lot of neat tricks they can do, from breaching charges to emp grenades. Using the destructible environments to create new sight lines or entrances is great fun. The drone is cool and very useful. The downside of the situation missions and terrorist hunts is they sometimes take the "waves of enemies" approach that is more CoD than tactical shooter. And the inclusion of suicide bombers in every mission that are more Jason Vorhees than a human enemy is kind of ridiculous. Still, the action is a lot of fun.

Another negative for me is the whole cash-grab aspect of this game, with a rewards system that encourages multiplayer players to spend even more money on top of this game's already steep price tag of sixty bucks to get important upgrades quicker. And charging money for things like weapon skins that should have been opened up to the modding community like other games (e.g., Skyrim) do.

Siege is a good game for what it is, but for me it's not a fully Rainbow Six game, it's more a game for the CoD crowd, just like the new Tomb Raiders are not fully Tomb Raider games, but are more for the Uncharted crowd. Without any real support for single player or co-op, the game ultimately lacks staying power since playing options will diminish as the online community shrinks over time. I expect Siege will end up on a dusty shelf or uninstalled on Steam for most players by the end of the year.

There's a lot you can say about Siege that is positive, but the developers, even during this "operation health" project that they've claimed will improve the game, are never fixing the critical issues that make the game have no incentive for you to even try and play.

    A few examples:
It takes 10 games to get a rank assigned in Ranked mode. The game rigs the 10 games so you are almost always with randoms and usually other unranked players, but rarely against other unranked players and usually organized teams.
Upon being ranked, you will be given a poor rank thanks to this even if you perform well (Because the rank system is extremely volatile and even if you get 30 kills, losing is still that punishing), and you will begin waiting 10-15 minutes for a game because it now refuses to put you with anyone other than those at said horrendous ranks, but the game will continue to tell you that you will only wait 1 -2 minutes, and will continue blatantly lying at all times.
There's no requirements for people to have before playing Ranked, so people jump straight into Ranked and ruin it for everyone else after just learning the keybinds in on game of casual. This is a problem with the community, but it's one that is critical and fixable by the devs.

The only reason this game hasn't become as horrendous as Counter Strike Global Offensive is because, unlike Valve, they haven't started banning people for complaining on the forums. Yet.

Rainbow Six: Siege fits a missing hole in multiplayer FPS games of which I've been searching for quite some time: a hardcore, squad based close quarters experience. You may be thinking that Counterstrike offers this too, but the experiences are very different.

Rainbow Six Siege provides a very interesting dynamic between the two teams: the defenders hold a position of extreme control over the attackers, who spend their time slowly wresting control from the defenders, either through direct confrontation or taking their resources apart.

The difference between the two teams is striking: the defenders have access to fixed position CCTV that offers a huge amount of visibility in a fixed-- and easily destroyed position-- whilst the attackers have access to drones, which offer mobile visibility but from the level of a small rodent, affording the attackers less direct information but the ability to see any part of the area. The defenders are given time to set traps, put up barricades and attempt to funnel the movements of the attackers into specific chokepoints, whilst the attackers are given flashbangs, explosives and longer range weapons to shoot into the buildings.

This set up creates a lot of tension, as defenders feel like homeowners experiencing a break in whilst the attacking team feel like unwelcome invaders in a hostile world, which has helped to create one of the most intense multiplayer experiences I've had in a while.

The slower, more methodical pace required by both sides and reliance on information and teamwork creates a solid experience, but one which requires a few friends and a teamspeak/discord server. Playing which a matchmade team just does not work as well, as many will be averse to using the microphone and so information is not distributed to the team fast enough.

Graphically, the game is serviceable: weapons tear up scenery, explosions and smoke pop off all around you and lights reflect across the floor as you make your way through the match. This is great, but the graphics can sometimes feel a little flat, which can make distinguishing between the many different operators relatively difficult.

The audio design is where the game comes into it's own. You will quickly find yourself relying on the various sounds heard throughout the level, from the zipping noise of a rappel to the heavy footed running of an enemy above you locating the objective. All of these instill a sense in more experience players and create some very tense moments: in a recent game I was sprinting toward a hostage when the floor below and wall to the side of me erupted into a hell of bullets as two enemies had picked up my footsteps.

The destructible environments of the game are top-notch. Walls blow apart, barricades are destroyed and hastily rebuilt and bullets fly through soft surfaces, creating another level to the map design and engagements felt throughout.

Though the game is not perfect due to difficulties playing when friends are not around and the graphics can make things less clear than they could be, I would still recommend picking this game up in any sale.

Despite being from Ubisoft, I can assure you that this game is very good. If you are a person who likes to play competitively, I recommend it.
It is a very realistic game, tactical and strategic, that is, a difficult game.
If you really want to be a professional in this game, it will take you many hours. I, for example, to stop being useless, I had to play 24 hours. But with patience and dedication, you can fall in love with this great title.
The tension that gives you when playing, is great, and the feeling when winning a round, indescribable.
Each character has a different ability and that makes it more entertaining. For example, we have one of the Russians, Fuze, who throws numerous grenades into a room through a wall or window. It is very annoying, but for this we have in the opposite team, Jager, which can place in the room, an artifact that eliminates the bombs that enter the room, that is, Fuze is ****
If you want to unlock new characters without using real money, I must announce that it is very expensive, and needs MANY hours of play.

In short, I recommend your purchase if you are a patient player and veteran / professional in the shooter.

PS: To play it I recommend that you have good helmets and good Internet. Another important point to comment, is that I do not recommend buying the "starter edition" version (€ 15), it's not worth it. Buy the normal edition.

Rainbow Six Siege is a game as described by its cover. It does not appeal to me that much but it does have a lot of pros. The game has very good graphics and does stuff like leaning left or right just like anybody would do. The characters are well designed and some are very unique and stand out among the rest. Seriously, have this game went through multiple test stages, or they just say so? I dont know how they cold have missed all of these issues. And they are found amongst the majority of players, and you can find those in pretty much any negative review for this game:
    - awful netcode with random delays and discrepancies between what you see and what you actually get, even with 40 hours to actually understand whats going on, and experience everything, that developers **** up.

In short - dont buy it now. Read reviews later down the update line, 2-3 updates/patches in. See if most of these problems are fixed, and if they are - then go for it, you'll have a lot of fun.

I wanted to like this game. When I saw and tried mechanics and graphics, I was just struck with an indescribable amount of amazingness. But this all became worthless when I played multiplayer. It is whoever has lightning fast reactions wins. Whoever sees the other first wins. It is luck based and biased toward fast people.

So, the game is in Beta since launch (don't miss that beta sign when entering multiplayer) it's still haveing a big ptoblem with hacks they can't detect and the massive netcode problem and pings are all over the place. And then they want you to pay for 2 Season passes for a game in beta.

Add in the fact this game does not have the single player campaign the Rainbow Six series is known and lauded for, and you come out with a fun game but one that is not worth it's current price point. Old review from when the game first came out:

This game gets a 2 for only after a year getting a real anticheat (Battle eye), and for the incredible destructibility that the environments in the game offer. albeit to late to make this game what it could have been.
The game has way to much interp, and has a very real problem with people exploiting the **** netcode and ping advantage afforded by this.
This game had the potential to have over throne CSGO as the big competitive shooter, but languished in Ubisofts incompetent hands, game breaking bug after game breaking bug fixed and then introduced by Ubisoft, and day one issues that continue to plague this game to this day. most glaring of which is the **** netcode, and broken matchmaker that can leave you sitting in queue for upwards of 40 mins, in some cases in ranked. it completely kills the momentum of the game, but that is not even what really killed this game, no its death came early right at launch when this game was left with no anticheat what so ever for at least 3 months before "Fairfight" came, and even then it was highly ineffectual to the point that the game became unplayable due to the amount of rampaging wallhackers in the community. only after the introduction of Battleeye did the game really show its true potential, while still being hamstrung by **** netcode and broken matchmaker. This game is a prime example of how a big name Developer can absolutely destroy a great idea.

Loading -> The matches are short and every match has a loading period before and after, as well as a one minute setup phase that gets old very quickly. Latency is extremely high, I frequently cannot edge around corners and shoot someone reliably because I don't receive a server packet until i've already been shot.

However my experience is tarnished mainly by the technical shortcomings, among other things. The lag is very high for a game of this genre, oftentimes you get shot from someone who isn't even appearing in your screen or just very briefly appearing, while on his he had turned the corner for a good half a second to a full second.
So much visual confusion, little details everywhere, and 90 different angles from which the ennemy can defend or approach a room (breakable ceilings/floors/walls, furniture, corners, windows...), make for a very, very steep learning curve, aswell as the sprawling maps that even 50 hours of play won't allow you to know well a single one. Oftentimes the character models are barely visible against the background too.
Learning curve made steeper by the fact the game is quick to catapult you with players who actually know it well. While you start playing with noobs like you, which is quite enjoyable, after you start getting a few frags, you'll rapidly end up matching up with seasonned players, after that it's mainly getting spawnkilled and killed from angles you didn't know existed.
Last but not least, the community's toxicity is ever present. Very rarely a single game without insults, flaming, trolling, griefing, TKs. The game I hear has a cheating problem aswell, but I only saw one very obvious one who didn't care to hide it, accompanied by his pal who kept insulting everyone who was accusing him. Considering my level, I can't really tell someone who's cheating from a good player.

So a game you should be playing with friends really. Should make the experience so much more enjoyable than mine, who couldn't get my friends to hop on it.

2021 Edit: Yeah, I gave a 10 to this game back in 2015. But after a lot of DLCs that has nothing to do with the original core of the game, which was something more realistic and serious, it just got meh. Looks like the new operators came from a Disney's agent movie or something (I love Disney) and it looks more like a Fortnite for young adults game nowadays.

    Good strategic-shooter game.

    Graphically can be improved.

The operators are original but some of them have useless gadgets.

The game has a good concept, a medium delivery, and a good core, but it doesn't meet most expectations. The game was better during the E3 Demo, hence when you buy the game, everything is more limited than shown in the gameplay demo. Long story short: Good Concept, and Medium Standard, but could've been a lot better than it's given potential. Medium wedge on the 60$ Value.

Your position, the position of Gadgets, the Gadgets itself ( so which Operator you chose). But ultimately its just pure luck. I have seen people randomly shooting through walls and giving you a headshot. People who throw grenades or c4 randomly somewhere and killing you. But that is not a Problem of the Game.

Because the Game itself has been improved a bit. But still. Loading Bugs. One Person is on the Desktop while loading and everyone is stuck in the loading screen. Matchmaking is awful. Either you are alone or in a full squad or you can wait forever to get into a Game. Very much glitching through walls while lying on the ground and getting shot through an indestructible Wall. Holes that arent holes and you thow a grenade against an invisible Wall.

And finally. It is kind of true. It is not as casual as CoD or Battlefield. Which doesnt mean that People are prevented from that Gameplay. It happens a lot, that Defenders just screw at everything run out and either shoot you at your spawn or run towards you outside and shoot everyone because no one saw that coming. And then claim they got an Ace and we are noobs. And what is their penalty? Being constantly spotted. Thats all. Instead of giving them 10 seconds and the will be killed, no they are spotted and thats it.

Or even better. My Squad is playing a lot of this game. We are playing it every Day and still have fun even if it is kind of repetitive. But the most unbelievable thing that happens, is that there are still Trolls that shoot their own teammates at spawn. Or better the whole team is fighting and insult each other leading to even more teamkills. ( was a funny Game though)

All in all, the game sure has its moments. But the fact that it is a casual version of Rainbow Six, the lack of Game modes and the kind of irritating Gameplay decisions are often annoying. And of course dont forget Uplay. A fun but average Shooter.

In short it is a good competitive fps with a high amount of depth (at least compared to most modern FPS games) crippled by sudden high pings, rubberbanding and random instances where the game freezes.

The level design is pretty damn good, with blind spots usually containing breakeable walls/windows that disencourage enemies from camping. At the same time, because deaths come so fast, rushing through the map in an attempt to achieve the highest possible body count is also a terrible idea.

Another interasting feature present in the game are the cameras and drones. The cameras allow the defending team to spot enemies and mark their location on the map, which helps to alleviate the lack of minimap, something that wouldn't fit what this game is trying to do anyway. Meanwhile, the drones give the attackers a safe way to see if there are any enemies ahead without exposing themselves to danger.

Teamworking is also an important part of the game but that also has its fair share of problems. For starters, at least in the casual mode, there is no punishment for quiting in the middle of a match, usually resulting in numeric disadvantage that can end up in a round loss that could otherwise be reasonable avoided. A 20 minute ban for quiting would have been a simple and efficient solution since players that had something urgent to do would not be overly punished for leaving the game, while the ones who exited just because they felt like it would be forced to sit in the corner doing nothing for almost half an hour. Balancing is also another issue as it is not uncommon to have a level 20 player in the same team as a guy that has played the game for 200 hours.

Had the the balancing and quiting being the only problems present in this product I would not have given it such a mediocre score, so let's get to the bigger factors preventing this from being a great video game.

Now, I wouldn't mind microtransactions if they were only applied to cosmetics but that is obviously not the case. There are 28 unlockable operators in this game and their price varies from 12500 to 25000 points, which means that if you are not willing to put extra money into the game you will have to play for at least 700 hours in the best case scenario. And keep in mind that the only operator that can be selected by more than 1 player is the recruit, who also happens to be the most useless class in the game. So if you want to have a good time with your buddies who just bought the game you may as well just go play something else. Even for a $15 dollar game I find this absolutely outrageous.

However, what kills the game for me are technical issues that I don't seem to have any control over. For some god forsaken reason I will suddenly go backwards 5 meters while I am reading to the objective, or maybe the game will freeze for about 3 seconds even though my ping is at 80. Speaking of ping, what is up with the random connection spikes? I swear to god the game sometimes jumps from 60 to 3000 for no apparent reason.

All in all Rainbow Six SIege is refreshing FPS that rewards thought, planning and strategy more than quick reflexes and good aim. Unfortunately said game is hindered by technical issues and an abusive microtransaction system. Oh, I almost forgot, it also requires the installation of Uplay.

Insurgency: Sandstorm.
    -----------------------------------
Rainbow Six Siege is an Overwatch for those who prefer the tuts-tuts instead of pi-piu.
Apparently, houses are being built either from polystyrene foam or from concrete. Even those made of wood. And children's beds are made of bulletproof plates. Equipment tightly nailed to the operators. You cannot experience a closed operator. You cannot relocate a protected hostage. Even if you run out of ammo, you won’t be able to pick up a weapon.
This game could be taken seriously if the cards were procedurally generated. In this case, the gameplay would not come down to memorizing cards.
The silencer does not make the shot silent, at all. Where did the bass frequencies come from in the sound of the shot?
Logic, realism, AI ("single player" is indicated in the description of the game) - I never heard of this.
    Microtransactions...

PS: If you want realism, better pay attention to Insurgency: Sandstorm.

There are a lot of smurf accounts that abuse us for not playing on their level (even though we are in the Newcomers level), and there is no way to report such players.

In terms of visual appeal this game is great. There are also a large number of maps to choose from, which makes this game look like it had a lot more potential. There are also plenty of characters to choose from. Though it lacks a campaign mode, it makes up for it with Challenges (which are also very difficult for new players). So overall I'd say it's a gorgeous looking game ruined by its bad controls and community.

There are not many cheaters, even if they meet, they are quickly banned and the rating returns. In general, a great game, which is spoiled by stupid decisions of the developers and the curve of the implementation of good ideas. Expand

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is my most played game on Steam with 528.8 hours, but anyway I'll talk a bit about this game today.
The main point of criticism is that in year 4 season 1-4 and in year 5 season 1 there were still 2 operators per season and that's still the good thing, because from year 5 season 2 up to the current year 7 season 1 there is only one operator per season and

The last new map was in year 4 season 1 in Operation Outback (March 2019) in the last 11 seasons there were only reworks of old maps so even less content and we can only hope that there will be 2 operators again in the future and a new map will occasionally have a map rework per season.
The community is almost more toxic than the League of Legends community and that must mean something, I've had rounds in which even beginners who just bought the game have already been yelled at by gold or platinum players.
Graphically it looks very good, but you never judge a book by its cover, the content counts more.
It was a fun experience with friends, but I could also play it alone and have fun (if I didn't have toxic high ranked dorks on my team).
In the end I have to say if you want to get this game wait until it's on sale because today it's not worth paying 20€ for it anymore since the price in 2018- early 2020 was much more demanding than today.
It's a shame what happened to this game today, shame on you Ubisoft

The game offers a lot of variety and customization, with dozens of operators to choose from, each with their own unique gadgets and abilities. The game also boasts realistic graphics and sound effects, creating an immersive experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, the game is not without its flaws. The game suffers from frequent bugs and glitches, some of which can ruin the match or even crash the game. The game also has a steep learning curve and a toxic community that can make it hard for new or casual players to enjoy. The developers do not seem to listen to the feedback or suggestions from the players, often ignoring the most pressing issues or making unpopular changes. Overall, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a fun and challenging game for fans of the genre, but it could use some more polish and communication from the developers. I would give it a 6/10 rating. An excellent and innovative breath of fresh air. The more I play, the more I like. I hope this is new role model for shooters to come. [Jan 2016]

Siege’s multiplayer mode with its hectic pace and unpredictability seems to have a huge e-sport potential but with random teammates is often unplayable. [01/2016, p.52]

Unfortunately, there aren’t that many maps available, but each one of them has lots of details and alternate routes, like basements and balconies. Even the airplane is much more complex than the archetypical “long tube with seats.” [Issue#205, p.48]
