Compared to the predecessor it offers better cargo systems and good new transports, but the controls are still flawed.

Reasonable advancement compared to the predecessor. Ships and planes deliver more variety and opportunities. The campaign alone challenges the player for a lot of hours. It still has some flaws though, especially with the track building.

This is kinda weird. On one hand Transport Fever manages to improve an almost everything that was good on its predecessor. But on the other hand some of the weak points like the abysmal economic system remain untouched. But if you are into figuring out the best logistics route for a variety of goods and needs, this is definitely for you.

While I feel the initial asking price might be a tad high, there’s countless hours of play time to be found here.

An ugly UI and some gameplay simplifications don't prevent Transport Fever from being an interesting product, especially if you are used to filling your games with tons of mods.

I can find myself warming up to Transport Fever. Still, I find it hard to recommend the game to anyone but hardcore transportation sim fans, and even then only if you are a bit of a glutton for punishment. If that description fits, you’ll find a fairly capable simulation that you’ll likely enjoy for a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately Transport Tycoon successor didn´t happen this time. Transport Fever is absurdly difficult compared to the iconic original, more complicated and mostly prefers the management over the constructive matters. Play the game only if you miss more paperwork in TTDX desperately.

Most importantly it is cross platform, and it runs smooth on my Linux setup. You need a dedicated graphics card and it is very resource hungry (compared to other games of this genre). The game is available on Steam and GOG, so you can get a DRM-free copy.

It has a pretty high simulation complexity. Every Person is simulated separately. They have a home, a workplace and a shop they'd like to visit. Some of them want to travel as quickly as possible, others as fast as possible. You'll get money depending on how fast you can transport them. For this purpose you have trains, buses, ships and airplanes available. There is also a quite complex Goods system which can be served by your transport business.
It is not a simple game, especially in the beginning and can be frustrating, if you are not patient. Also laying tracks is very tricky if you are not familiar with the provided tools, but they are very powerful if you start to master them. You can build very complex track installations.
There is also a very nice campaign mode, where you can play some episodes of American and European transport history. Moreover there is a great modding community for this games and already more than 200 mods are available on steam workshop and the community web page (mostly vehicles).

I never used the campaigns, because the free game mode is so liberating. The goal is not just to create, but to create something perfectly, uniquely, efficiently, to see it grow.
It's my zen garden...a masterpiece with an upcoming sequel that brings more features the original needed.

Forget these new games like Planet Coaster or Cities Skyline that put all the efforts on cosmetics and nothing on the management side.

The campaign is excellent (again, not like new games that only do "sandbox" modes).

This game is truly challenging. Money is difficult to make and you have to carefully manage your transport in order to win.

I understand people that say this game is not so good, because it is hard to learn, isn't really realistic etc. but if you are one of the manyI understand people that say this game is not so good, because it is hard to learn, isn't really realistic etc. but if you are one of the many players that played good old transport strategies, this one is for you. Personally, I played only OpenTTD but many many hours of it and I have to say that Transport Fever is just like OpenTTD but with better, very detailed (as for transport tycoon) 3D graphics. The mechanics and interface are identical to those of OpenTTD. Buttons like "create new line" are in the same exact place. I highly recommend it to every fan of TTD.

The only thing thats lacking is multiplayer. There is none, not even LAN. We can only hope that the developers will add it in update or in the next game.

The UI needs a bit of work to make laying track and routing trains a bit easier for example, but you can get round that with some perseverance at the moment. The graphics are lovely - people in the world all move about their own business and the cities/businesses respond to how well you interact with them. You really get a sense that you've made a difference. Nice addition of achievements to add more goals for the campaign modes - nice historical alignment too. It even has the catchy TT-esque music lol. The most important aspect of all - it makes me think hard about how best to do something, even more than TT did! I'm completely hooked. If you're a fan of Transport Tycoon - ignore the really low-scoring reviews, they are overly dramatic, and in some instances I think some players have either missed the point, or are just bad at the game. Giving it an 8/10 because of some bugs, but great effort! Really looking forward to further patches/improvements. Expand

The first hour or so you have money for one train and one route you build it and than just wait. The 3 time speed is a joke maybe if they added a 10x speed this game would get more interesting. Now its just way to slow paced. You can watch a movie and play this game at the same time. Expand
