A genius blend of comedic and gameplay excellence, Trover Saves the Universe is arguably the best Oculus Quest title to date.

Though Trover Saves The Universe is a short playthrough, clocking in around six hours, it's still worth taking a stab at it. The 3D control aspect is refreshing and the dialogue is hilarious (assuming you're not easily offended). Gameplay was fun and finding all those Power Babies is a reward in itself. Trover Saves The Universe is definitely a comedy adventure game that is fit to sit on the shelf with those other iconic titles in the genre.

Whether you play in VR or on a plain screen, Trover Saves the Universe offers a fantastically engaging action platforming experience with a ton of dick jokes.

While Trover Saves the Universe doesn’t have that same level of interaction a lot of other VR titles tend to feature as standard nowadays, its elevated from being a standard VR platformer to one with a unique atmosphere thanks to all the other elements. Trover Saves the Universe is the funniest experience you’ll have on Oculus Quest, plus there’s plenty of content thanks to the included free DLC. It’s a fun experience which should give most players a good 5+ hours of entertainment.
  5. If you like Just Roiland’s works, you like Trover Saves The universe, if you don't, you don't like this game.

As far as my advice goes, it’s simple — for those who dig Rick & Morty, this is a must-buy, even if one doesn’t own a VR headset. Those who think the show is over-hyped, unfunny nonsense should stay as far away from it as possible. The gameplay or VR implementation isn’t anything earth-shattering, but as a delivery mechanism for Justin Roiland’s humor, Trover Saves The Universe is a fantastic success.

Although gameplay for non-VR players feels like an afterthought, Trover Saves the Universe is an off-the-cuff experience with hilarious writing that ends far too soon.

It's a really good game (one of my favorites) with a wtf and a good story, even if the gameplay is classic. Trover and the other characters are always talking about something (always wtf) that adds a lot of life to the game and what they say is really fun.
It's a game you play sitting down, I think that's a good thing because sometimes you just want to play VR and relax.

I hope there is a sequel coming soon !

The voice acting, the dialog before and after you show up are just top notch. Don't expect a complex platform game, everything is pretty silly and easy, but fun. The game is about 5 hours long, which is just barely enough to justify the $29.99 price.

If you like "lol I'm so random" type humor then this game is for you. You would think the humor of Trover Saves the Universe would be similar to the humor of Rick and Morty, but it's not. It's just five hours of Roiland saying whatever random unstructured words came to his mind at that moment while you progress through a mediocre and uncompelling story. I have no problem with curse words, but a constant stream of them doesn't count as meaningful humor. One upside is that the combat is fun and the various puzzle mechanics are interesting, but neither can save the game, as I found myself getting bored for most of the 5 hours.

Worth playing if you're a die-hard Roiland fan but otherwise I can't recommend it.

It's mostly just Justin Roiland ranting at you for about four hours. Good thing he's a funny dude.
