"Umbrella Corps’ metascore suggests that it’s one of the worst games of this generation, but if you look past its low budget and bugs, you’ll see a fresh, unconventional shooter brimming with brilliant small innovations. [09/2016, p.52]"

"Every level is very small, and no matter where you decide to hole up, it will be easy for enemies to flank you. It’s not bad by itself, but such design makes cover system – which was to become one of Umbrella Corps’ trump cards – redundant. "Umbrella Corps has a few interesting ideas up its sleeve, but that’s all it has. Whenever it attempts to put those ideas into practice, they’re shoddily executed and laughably inept for a tactical shooter that rewards almost no tactics whatsoever."
