Jan 27, 2022Square Enix's attempt at a card-based game has come up all Aces! The spoken story and card mechanics are relaxing and entertaining. The JRPG-like artwork is beautiful and fits the presentation well. Everything about the game retains that Square Enix RPG charm we've come to expect! The game compels you to leave no card unturned and when all is said and done Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is a welcome break from the hectic and frantic pace of other game types!

Oct 31, 2021Voice of Cards is undeniably fun to follow, especially thanks to its frankly successful “board game” aesthetic. However, he fails to fully engage the player in his adventure, the fault of overly simplistic and intrusive fights. This leaves a very nice game, often funny and enjoyable to play, but unfortunately punctuated by moments of trouble.

Oct 29, 2021Probably the most predictable story Yoko Taro ever wrote, and yet Voice of Cards is still a nice little JRPG, with good characters and an interesting world that probably deserved more time.
-
Nov 5, 2021Strip away the framing and this is a throwaway JRPG that never finds its bite.
